Chris stood there with his hands on his waist watching the whomping willow, he would often come and watch it and often when a bird got too close he would see the tree wildly swing at it. thats one mental tree Chris thought. His dad had once told him that there was a passage somewere on or under the tree that lead to the shrieking shack, chris had always wondered how his dad knew that but all he would get was some rubbish about a map yeah i could realy do with that map Chris thought sarcastically he didnt believe for one second it actually existed.
Chris would often ponder how it was you could get close enough to look for the passage let alone actually finding out what to say or do to make the passage appear or.. Chris paused that thought as he noticed a small blue bird flying towards the tree poor thing he thought as it got pummeled to death by the tree i wounder who cleans that up.. he thought looking over at the corpse of the bird, he didnt move towards it as he didnt want to end up dead along with it.
Chris sat down on the grass watching the tree as he pulled up grass then let it fall between his fingers back to the ground where he would pull up some more and continue the procedure over and over again untill there was no grass left. i wounder he thought throwing a stone at the tree. It just bounced off... well that was stupid

Autumn at Hogwarts marked the beginning of yet another year there. In some ways, she was glad to be back amongst other people like herself, but in other ways, she'd rather still be in her bed in London. However, for Jaslene Malfoy, the one thing that really impacted on how she felt about the new school year, was the fact that she could not escape her mother here either. What was up with that? Sometimes, she suspected her mother had only accepted the Headmistress post, in order to wacth her daughters. It really wouldn't surprise her, if this turned out to be correct. Of course, Hermione was a good candidate and probably wanted the job, but she bet her mother also secretly liked the idea of knowing what her children were doing.
Her blonde hair, falling across her shoulders as she walked, she observed the other students around her. The mutiple piles of browning leaves crunched beneath her soft footsteps. A lone figure caught her attention, in the distance, as she pulled a piece of hair out of her eyes. Her curiosity stabbing her, she decided to make her way towards the edge of the castle grounds, where she realised that this individual was not completely unknown to her. She was surprised, to say the least, that he had chosen such a spot to sit down. It wasn't exactly a tourist destination for the other students wandering around. Maybe they were more sensible than this boy. Or maybe he knew something they didn't.
She didn't deem it introduce herself and announce her presence, with a proper greeting. Slytherins didn't go in for that sort of thing, and Jaslene was no different. She simply stood, once she was in a close proximity to her fellow housemate, and watched him for a few minutes. What would bring someone this close to a notably violent tree? Many possibilities filled her head, in answer to this question, the first of which she spoke aloud, "Do you have some sort of death wish, or are you just generally insane?" [/blockquote]

Chris was watching the tree carefully thinking of ways he could possibly make it stop for long enough that he could go check it out, he wasnt sure if most spells he knew that would stop things would work on a tree. He was pondering this thought when a girls voice seemed to come out of nowhere. He turned to see who it was and there stood a girl who looked familiar, as if he had knew her in a previous life or she was some sort of long lost friend, whatever it was it made his cautious of the girl.
"Im just generally insane" he answered her standing up, she looked about his age which made him feel a bit more comfortable "you look familiar" he said scratching his head slightly, with a shrug Chris threw the thought to one side and held his hand out for her to shake "Im Christopher Weasley, and your the first person who hasn't realised im a weasley within the first three seconds of meeting me" for that weird but true fact he was rather grateful of her as he hated people recognising him because of his family. Looking down at his hand, she paused, before speaking, as though allowing herself time to examine his arm thoroughly. Of course, she wasn't actually studying every feature on his arm, because not only would that be slightly weird, she had no interest in the shape of his body. Even if it was good. She didn't care for his arm, at all. "Uhuh." She responded briefly, with little expression in her voice, "And you'll have to remind me here, because I'm so stupid, but I don't remember asking for your name. If I wanted it, I would have asked." Glancing at the tree again, which obviously held so much interest for him, she gave an inaudible sigh as she turned to face him again, hearing him speak once more, "Well, Christopher Weasley, we have one thing in common. You're the first person to not guess my family heritage either." She gave a small, emotionless smile, as she gestured to her hair. "Surely, it isn't that difficult? I would have thought you'd have been witness to many stories about my family. My mother tells me countless stories about you." She pouted, and turned away from him, focusing on the old tree. Wasn't it said that this tree was planted over two generations ago? But then, trees did seem to live a long time. Ah, the ongoing cycle of nature. If only human life lasted that long. [/blockquote]

Chris was confused for a moment on how she reacted to him introducing himself, he just let his arm drop to his side "Well i presumed you would want to know my name, because.. well come on look at me" he joked, he had definitely inherited his fathers humor. "Oh and your not stupid, your cunning, ruthless and probably a lot of other things but not stupid" he said with a smirk, he wasnt sure if he liked the girl or not she was.. peculiar, chris would have to wait.
It took Chris a moment before he realised who he was talking to "Jaslene Malfoy" he said with a smirk thinking back t his meeting with the headmistress the day before "You know your mom said you looked fine.. she was right" Chris said with a small smirk looking her up and down, she looked more of a malfoy then a granger but the entire weasley vs malfoy thing had died down scince Hermione married Draco.
"So what is it your mother tells you about me?" He asked her curiously, it would be verry interesting to find out what the headmistress actually thought of him when she wasnt telling him off. she probably tells her to stay away from me Chris thought with a smile, he wouldn't realy mind that as it meant he had a reputation even if it was a bad one. "You take after your father" Chris said simply, he had only met her father once but Chris remembers specifically that he doesn't like him, he cant remember why he doesn't like him though.

It was difficult to prevent herself from laughing in his face. Seriously, was he expecting her to fall for his ridiculous lines? They were certainly self-confident responses. Even for Slytherin standard. She would know after all, thinking of a lot of herself. "Trust me, I had no more desire to know your name, than I have to know anything else about you." What was up with his cockiness? She wasn't exactly enthused. "Let's just say, in terms of this conversation, the person with the highest opinion of you is definitely yourself." Merlin, what an idiot. And he looked confused by her attitude? She was just as perplexed by his. Rolling her eyes as he continued to express his self-love, she spoke again, "Thank you, Weasley. But I was being sarcastic. I'm well aware, that I'm not stupid. And even if I had those qualities, so what of it? I bet you have them also. Every Slytherin does. Do not single me out." For a Slytherin conversation, this was remarkably good-toned. She had never had such a meeting before. But then, he was a Weasley. Even if he was a member of her house also. He was from that family, first and foremost. She glanced at him again, as though retaking in his appearance, as she finished her part on that topic, "And look at what, Weasley? I see nothing of interest." So maybe a tiny part of her brain disagreed with this last statement. What of it. She'd soon surpress this... unsatisfactory feeling. "My mother isn't exactly your biggest fan, as you're probably aware. In fact, she says you remind her too much of a teenage version of your father." She said all this quite simply, quite surprised with herself, for even bothering to grace this question with an answer. "And what part of my father is visible in me? Is this some prejudgmental view from your family, or are you simply admiring my good looks? Maybe I'm like my father, but I'm proud to be." She couldn't help looking him up and down again, before adding, "Besides, I could say the same for you." [/blockquote]

Chris watched the girl and smirked at her responses "Look cant you take a joke, seriously" Chris said with a small laugh, he then turned to face the tree. "Well if you dont think your great then who else will, nobody, thats who" Chris said with a smile, he would let the girl ponder that for a while as chris knew it was the truth and the more the girl thought about it the more she would have to agree with him, im so good at twisting things he thought bending down to pick up a stone.
Chris held the stone in his hand for a while as he listened to Jaslene "I know you were being sarcastic, sarcasm is one of my other languages" chris said with a smirk then threw the rock at the tree again. theres something fun about throwing rocks at this tree he thought then looked back at Jaslene "Well your free to look at me as much as you want untill it finally interests you" Chris said then bent down to pick up enougther rock.
Chris threw the rock with quite some force but it just bounced of the tree like the other rocks he had thrown. "Well my father was quit a legend in his time here at Hogwarts" Chris said with a smile taking what was probably meant as an insult as a comment, he didnt realy care though as it was the headmistresses view and scince who cared about what teachers thought. "The cunningness and slyness, thats what i see.. but now that you mention it you are pretty good looking" chris said flashing her a smile then picking up a rock. "Thanks" he said when she said she could say the same about him, and then he threw the rock like he threw the others.

There was something quite infuriating about this boy. How was it that throughout the many years they had spent, in the same year and house, that she had only justed realised exactly how annoying he was? It seemed her attention span wasn't as good as she had deemed it. What other reason could there be? There was nothing else to it. This boy just naturally had something about him that annoyed her. Maybe because she was someone that wasn't intimidated by her cold exterior. Why wasn't this working? She could feel a small amount of frustration building up. And yet, he had the temerity to laugh at her? With every minute passing by, this particular Slytherin was becoming more aggravating. She'd only been in his company for this first time, and he seemed to be well accustomed to the ways of annoying her. Well, even if this was true, she wasn't going to let him know it. He already had enough ego for both of them.
Scowling slightly, she tucked another piece of blonde hair behind her ears. "And now you ask, no, I'm not particularly fond of the majority of this student body's idea of a joke. Especially when it feels like one at my expense. Don't joke around me, I'll probably resort to unnecessary consequences." She blinked, watching him evidently enjoy throwing rocks at this tree. Truthfully, she didn't think it the wisest thing he'd ever done. She decided to move back slightly, distancing herself enough from the tree's reach, if it reacted badly. It wasn't anything to her if he got hit. In fact, it would probably be better for her. He was turning out to be every bit as annoying as her mother proclaimed. Perhaps such an attack would even shut him up, for a while. Unable to control her reaction at his more than arrogant statement, she felt a need to say her opinion, "Don't flatter yourself, Weasley. You're not much to look at. Don't take it personally though." She smiled sweetly, it being blatantly clear that this was quite personal. Oh well, he was sure he'd recover. Even if this statement managed to reach his thick skull. It would probably just float over it. "But, now you mention it, I agree with your comment about my appearance. Seems some of us just come from better genepools than others." Keeping her sweet facade as she spoke, she turned to glare at a small child walking past, who had dared to stare at her for the past few seconds. What was it with fourth year boys? Urgh, they were all so one-minded. Pouting again, she disputed yet another of his responses. "I'm not sly, at all, thank you. And I don't think, given my status in this school, and your own, that you should even start to criticise me." [/blockquote]

Chris looked over at Jas, she seemed rather frustrated oh well chris thought picking up another stone and throwing it at the tree, it was rather calming actually throwing stones, but he wanted the tree to react, he wasnt sure how he wanted the tree to react, go crazy maybe and freak out but so far it seemed to just be ignoring the stones that hit off it seriously im going to throw a brick at this thing soon Chris thought picking up yet enougther stone and throwing it.
i think im going to run out of stones Chris said looking around for a new one, that was when Jas spoke once again, he could tell he was just having a go at him so he began to whistle the tune 'why cant we be friends' then it came to the singing part and he had timed it so she had just finished speaking perfect he thought as he began to sing "why cant we be friends?, why cant we be friends?, why cant we be friends? I seen i seen you round for a long long time.." he sang as he clicked his fingers, he was doing it mainly to see how the girl would react.. he was sure it would amuse him though.
After his little performance he answerd to what else she had said "Yeah, im not much to look at.. thanks, ive been on a diet" Chris said rubbing his stomach, he knew he was twisting her words and eventually she would just have to give up and storm off. Chris also noticed the boy so he smirked "It okay kid, look all you want, shes from a better gene pool" He said then spread his arms wide as if presenting her on the shopping channel.
"Oh your sly, and if you dont know that yet then i guess i know you better then you know you" Chris said with a smile, it was rather a confusing sentence but Chris understood it and with a smile he added "Well if you criticize people of course your going to get criticised" chris paused a moment then began to sing again to annoy her "Thats life, thats what all the people say.." She couldn't help but still hope that something would happen to swing this argument her way. Because, it was obvious even to her, at the moment, that he was winning this easily. And she didn't like this one bit. Why was she unable to have the upper hand on this situation, like with all the other people? Maybe he was just a more pronounced version of her. Argh, maybe he was just that annoying. Well, if he thought she was bothered, he was so wrong. Absolutely wrong. To admit that he was getting to her, would be to go against everything that she had just said. To admit it would be admitting that she cared. And if there was one thing she didn't do, it was care. Especially about idiots like Christopher Weasley.
"I hope you did not seriously mean to ask me why we're not friends. Isn't it obvious from this meeting alone? You're arrogant, annoying, completely irritating, arrogant.." Yes, she was aware that was repeating herself, but that all helped to empathise her point anyway. "Besides, I'm a Slytherin, and proud to be so, I don't believe in 'friends.' There is only acquaintances and mere conveniences." And how was he able to twist her words like that? It was something she had rarely found before. Everything she had said, supposedly an insult, something in her usual expressionless manner, he just turned them round, so easily, as though she had been trying to give him a compliment all along. Hah, the very thought disgusted her, which was accompnied by a simple sound of disgust, "Do not attempt to showcase me, Weasley. I do not need your input in this situation. I'm perfectly capable, perfectly able to handle it. So, why don't you do me a favour, and just stay out?" [/blockquote]

Chris smiled as she was getting annoyed, he had nothing against her if she suddenly wanted to become his friend he would most likely have said yes but considering she wasnt willing to be friendly and kind he was jut going to have some fun annoying her untill she either gave up and walked away or gave in. either way he was winning and he was pretty sure she could tell that. Chris smiled at her sweetly as he could then thre anougher rock at the tree. "You should try this, it'll calm you down, moody pants" chris said with a small laugh.
Chris listend to her as she listed all the things why she wouldn't be his friend and then she said she didnt beleive in friends "Well thats a shame because your so cute" he said with a smirk then added "Well if you want to know about friendship talk to your mother, she had two best friends for life, they still talk you know" Chris said with a smile, she could hardly argue against that, it would be like arguing against her own mothers life.
"Well if you can showcase yourself then feel free but i always thought you were more class then to showcase yourself to all the boys" he smirked as he was able to twist her words once again and then he added "Stay out of what exactly?" he would find it interesting on how she would answer that question. Chris shook his head as he smiled then bent down and picked up a stone.

"Given our current situation, I think I'd rather throw a stone at your head." Slightly aggressive, but who really cared? She simply reasoned that he was being far too annoying, and this was justified, in some way, by throwing rocks at the offending person's head. Glaring at him again, as she took a few steps forward, she positioned herself so that she was stood beside him, but not too close. She picked up a small round stone, before abruptly throwing it. Despite her current aggravation, she realised that he was right, this action did release some of her irritation, and that she had quite an impressive throw. Especially for a girl who had previously shown no sporting talent whatsoever. She failed to comment on this, however, most unlike her usual behaviour whenever she succeeded at anything else. Frowning at his next reply, she couldn't figure out what being attractive had to do with friendship. And so, she phrased this confusion, "As true as that is, I don't need to worry about appearances amongst friends. Friendship has nothing to do with being attractive or otherwise. I think you're thinking of relationships. They're the time that appearances matter." Merlin, was she really that shallow? Oh well, nothing incredibly bad came of that. Besides, she hadn't ever seen a problem with this habit before. And if he criticized her over this, well this time, she really would throw a rock at his head. "So, you can tell yourself whatever you want, I really don't care, but if you think I'm about to beg to be your friend, you're sorely mistaken." There it was again. That talent to twist words. She wondered whether it was a genuine talent, or merely he knew exactly how to push her buttons. Were other people as annoyed by his behaviour as she was? Surely she wasn't the only one? "Of course I don't plan to showcase myself, Weasley. Don't twist my words. Besides, someone like mysefl doesn't need to showcase herself. What I'm doing now seems enough to hold your interest, anyway." She frowned again, all thoughts of smirking forgotten, "Just stay out of everything. Is that enough explanation for you? Or would you perhaps like my mother to define it more bluntly for you? I hear she does so enjoy your little chats." Under her breath, she couldn't help but add, "At least someone does." Sighing, she picked up another small stone, and holding it in her hand, said the one thing that had been annoying her throughout, "Why are you obsessed with irritating me?" [/blockquote]

"fine be like that mood pants" Chris said with a smirk throwing the rock he had in his hand at the top of the tree to see if he got a better reaction, he didnt. Chris watched as she stood next to him and threw the rock "See doesn't that feel good to you?" he said with a smile he wasnt actually trying to tease her or anything this time he was just being friendly, he figured he would tease her untill she was about to crack then he would have to calm her down before she ran off to mummy.
Chris smiled she had just walked into something without even realising "Ha so you do believe in friendship" he said with a smile then added "Good because you'll be a verry lonely girl if you dont" he smirked slightly then added "And who said i wasnt thinking of a relationship" he gave her the cheeky grin he had inherited of his father and a wink that he had inherited from nobody. He of course had not been thinking of a relationship but she didnt know that. Chris picked up enoughter rock and threw it with quiet some fource and instead of the slight movement the tree usualy did it stayed completely still what the he thought scratching his head but decided to ignore it and continue talking to Jas. "you wouldn't need to beg"
Chris grinned at Jas he liked annoying her but he liked annoying anyone so he didnt realy consider her anything special, even though her mom and his uncle had been great friends once Chris decided that didnt mean they had to be friends, then again his uncle and her dad used to be great enemies too which meant they didnt have to be enemies. "Well your only holding my attention because the tree doesn't talk and theres not a girl around with less clothing then you" Chris said letting out a laugh but to be honest if a girl did walk past with hardly anything on he was pretty sure all the boys would soon forget about jaslene.
Well staying out of everything might be hard as that would mean id have to be naked and im sure you dont want that" Chris said with a smirk then said "Well your mother is a charming woman, you should take her example and listen to me without being so cocky, you might just like what you find" Chris said with a smile then turned back to face the tree as she spoke, the tree was moving again now, Chris just shrugged it off and looked for a stone "Who said im obsessed with irritating you, your not special, i annoy everyone, except my friends.. and you've made it clear you dont want to be one plus you started it with your 'im stupid' sarcasm and your calling me generally insane" Chris then picked up a rock with a smile he knew she couldnt argue with that as it was true. "I will be like that." she agreed simply, being as awkward as possible. "Otherwise you'd get the impression that you had some control over my words or actions, and I wouldn't want you to believe something that isn't true." She smiled sweetly, still imagining hitting the back of his stupid head with rocks. Straightening up, she addressed him fully, him being the central focus of her eyesight, for perhaps the first time in this conversation. "Well, Weasley, that would all depend on what you were describing as good. Because noting how the other stuff I've said has ended up badly, I'm not about to tell you something was good, before I'm perfectly aware of what this thing is." He was far too triumphant, when he thought he'd won, for her liking as well. She couldn't help but point out every little flaw she had, in her head, as this conversation progressed. She didn't know why she was so determined to paint the worst picture of him possible, but it was helping her, so she chose to ignore her thoughts on this matter. It had just occured to who, by her standards, just how many failings this boy had. But then, judging by his attitude towards her, he'd probably make the same sort of notes. She was sure that if asked, he would be more than willing to point out all of her faults also. Scratching the side of her pale neck, she made an expression of complete shock at this thought, mixed with her disgust, "Please tell me you were joking. I don't think I could bear the thought." She rolled her eyes at his wink, ergh, what a creepy thought. She really hoped it wasn't true. Althought a small niggling doubt crept into her head, and doubted whether it would really be all that bad. Surprised yet again at his bold sentiments, she glared in his direction. "That was pretty harsh for a guy who isn't exactly Prince Charming himself. Believe it, or not, I could get any guy I want, if I wanted. I'm capable of holding anyone's attention." She was a little bit shocked, and hurt, that he didn't think her worthy of his full attention. And hadn't he basically just said she was one step up from an ancient willow tree? It wasn't at all good for the girl's ego. She was used to people adoring her, telling her how good she looked, on a daily basis. And now, here was this boy, a Weasley, comparing her worth to that of a tree that attacked people. "Urgh, Weasley. Please don't fill my head with such images at this time of day. I've just eaten, you know. What makes you think I would ever want to picture you naked?" Did he have to twist everything she said? Or were her words just that easy to convert into something else? She didn't like thinking the latter. "And I'm not half as cocky as you. I'm merely self-assured. And given who I am, and looking the way I do, it would be difficult to be otherwise." She was also rather surprised by his later statement, "I beg to differ. I am incredibly special. And if you cast your mind back, I think you'll find I asked if you were insane, you were the one to confirm it." The sickly sweet smirk returned to her features, having made her point. [/blockquote]

"fine" Chris said simply with a rather sarcastic smile. Chris threw the last rock at the tree and decided his arm was getting tired time to concentrate more on her i guess he thought turning to face Jaslene and look her in the eyes i hate to admit she is good looking Chris thought as it was the first time she had looked directly at him. Of course he was only going to tell her that she was good looking when it would annoy her. "I dont control you, your an individual, i respect that but if you cant get persuaded even if it is for the best then your a bit.. well stupid" Chris said simply stretching his right arm around the back of his head, it looked rather weird but felt soothing. "Im describing the throwing the stone, what else could i be describing as good? your looks? well i guess that might be true but still i was talking about the stone" he said with a smirk.
"Oh come on a relationship with me wouldn't be that bad would it?" chris asked with a small smirk then added "You'll never know if i was joking or not.. but know this, you are good looking" Chris smiled at her then turned back to face the tree, a part of his brain just wanted to run at it and see what happens but he was never going to do that, he just wasnt that stupid, although Jas probably thinks differently. "Don't worry you wont see me naked.. any time soon" Chris said then added the last bit just to annoy her slightly.
"Oh come on were both as cocky as each other, you just called yourself good looking, even though i agree with that, its still pretty cocky" Chris said with a smirk, he could spend all day annoying this girl well if he had to spend a day with her if he wasnt annoying her he would either be verry verry bored.. or possibly kissing her, although she wouldn't allow that to happen, or so it seems. "Ok babe you are pretty special" Chris said with a wink again, he knew it would annoy her some more he then added "But you spoke to me first so technically you did start it.
