Sam bit her lip slightly as a light breeze rolled by, toying with her blond locks. She stared up at the clear sky, then back toward Arthur. She wondered if he had some sort of nickname that she could call him, but she didn't really feel like asking, "So, you're kinda of different from the rest?" she assumed. It seemed that way. How he talked about not being like them, and how he tended to stay away from the squabbles, "It must suck, having no one to really talk to," she spoke aloud, almost seeming like to herself, since the very sentence related to her a lot, as well. She was an only child, and her parents were barely ever around. She really had no one she could rely on, which was why she was the way she was today.
She chuckled slightly at his comment, "I highly doubt that.. though I wouldn't be surprised," she admitted, grinning slightly, "Or they're just so jealous they have nothing better to do than to bash me," she added, snorting in disgust. Some people could just be so immature. The worst part was, though, that it was the truth. Normally she was a hard person to hold a conversation with, "Same," she responded to the year he was in. She knew it must have been hard, to suddenly be thrown into Hogwarts for the first time in the middle of your fifth year. It would take a lot of adjusting and getting used to, "You know if you ever need any help getting around the school or.. anything like that, I'll be willing to help you out," she offered, surprised herself, "You don't seem all that bad.. so far." She usually didn't offer up her services in such a straighforward manner like that. Normally she didn't like helping anyone unless it benefited her.

I'm not saying it was your fault.
Although you could have done more Arthur nodded, watching her carefully. "Yeah you'll never find anyone quite like me" he told her with a smile. Although it was usually a good thing sometimes Arthur was different for the worst. He was rarely angry or pissed off but when he did get like that he became almost like a psychopath, but he had a feeling Sam would probably never see that side of him, he didn't want her to. "I had myself" he pointed out as she had caught him talking to himself. "Now I'm at Hogwarts though I'm sure I'll have people to talk to.. there's you" he said, they may not have even been speaking for that long but he realy liked Sam and had not expected to find someone he liked so quickly.
Arthur smiled at her "I'm sure its one of them things" he told her as he looked to the sky then back to her. "Cool" he said when he found out he was in the same year as her, they could be in some lessons together. He didn't realy feel like going into that much detail yet though. Arthur smiled as she offered to help him, he hadn't realy been expecting that "I'll keep you in mind" he told her with a smile, he probably would need her help though.. or a map. Arth smirked slightly as she said he didn't seem that bad so far, "And your the coolest person ive met.. so far" Oh your so naive yet so.. "I can imagine," Samantha answered, "You're pretty different from all the other people I know," she admitted, "But, you know.. sorta in a good way. Not like, bad different, if you get my drift," she added with a small laugh, "I think being different is cool. You're not as boring as everyone else," she concluded, shrugging. She nodded slightly in understanding, "Yeah, me too.. just me to talk to.. about my problems," she shook her head, not really too fond of the memories of loneliness. There was her nanny, of course, but that wasn't quite the same. Not much had changed, "Sometimes I talk to my stuffed animals like they were alive," she told him. That was something she wouldn't normally share with many people, "It'll get easier, trust me," she responded with a small smile as she looked over at Arthur.
As he spoke, she examined her nails to occupy herself. She normally did this sort of thing when she was nervous, but at the moment, there wasn't anything she should have been nervous about. She laughed at his last comment, "Yeah, well, I am sort of the only student you've met, so that doesn't mean much," she replied, "But thanks anyway," she added, "Do you play Quidditch?" she asked suddenly. She was actually willing to get to know this kid, which was different for her. She brushed her hair over one shoulder with her hand as she awaited his reply.

Although you could have done more Arthur laughed slightly at what she said about him being different. "Yeah, and your not that bad either" he said with a small grin. He smiled slightly as she said she only had herself to speak to, he wasn't trying to be mean but he found it nice to find someone that could relate to him and he could relate to. "Well you have me now" he told her with a smile. He wasn't going to be that easy to get rid of either.
Arthur began to scratch the back of his head and looked over at the tree, he had this weird feeling in his stomach which he wasn't sure if he liked. What have i eaten he thought to himself. As Sam spoke he looked back over at her "Yeah.. but anyone could have come over to talk to me.. I'm glad it was you" he told her honestly, he couldn't imagine anyone he would rather be talking to right then. "Yeah, i actually signed up to be hufflepuff Seeker, you?" he asked with a smile thinking of the times he got up early before his family so he could fly around alone outside without any distractions. "Well, that's what you think now," Samantha began, "But this is me when I'm in a particularly good mood," she added, shrugging slightly, "I'm not normally this nice to people. Especially people I don't know," she told him honestly. She decided she didn't want to give him the wrong first impression of her, or make him think she acted like this all the time. This was her good side. Normally she would be a bit more snappy and downright rude. She grinned slightly, "Hopefully that's a good thing," she responded. In all honesty, she really didn't think Arthur was all that bad.
Sam let her blue eyes roam her surroundings yet again, but noticed no one else was in the area, as far as she could tell. It was really quite peaceful out here, "Eh, well, I'm sure anyone would have been just as good as me to talk to," she replied, "Though they aren't as excellent as I am.. You probably would have made friends with anyone who had wandered over here, I can imagine," she told him with a small shrug. She thought for a moment, "Well, normally I'm a chaser, but I sort of decided this year that I would focus more on school work. I'll probably sign up next year, though," she replied, "But that's cool.. Seekers are always.. cool," she felt really lame after stating that, since it sounded rather stupid, "I was wondering.. since everyone in your family seems to be a wizard and what not... Do you come from a pureblood family?" she asked curiously.

Although you could have done more "This is me in a good mood to, i can be evil sometimes..." he confessed to her, she probably wouldnt believe him but if he got realy wound up he would usually go extremely mad because he tended to bottle his feelings up. "well you know me now and of course its a good thing, me and you.. we can do anything" he said with a smirk.
"Probably but I'm sure there's a reason you came over and not someone else" he told her, he wasn't realy sure about faith or destiny or anything like that but there must have been something that made Sam come over to him before anyone else. "Cool.. and thanks" he said with a smile when she said seekers were always cool. "Yep one of the purest.. you?" he asked curiously, if he found out that she was a mudblood or something it would probably have torn his mind into bits because he had been bought up to think of them badly, sure he didn't realy mind them but he had to pretend he did, for his family. "Hm, really?" she asked curiously. For some reason, Samantha just couldn't see how he could get 'evil' sometimes. Even though she's only known him for a short time now, it just seemed out of character for him. She thought for a moment, excitedly, "I've always wanted to rule the world.. Everyone bow down to me, you know? You could totally rule alongside me," she told him giddily. It honestly had always been a dream of hers. That's why she had become interested in dark magic, knowing that it had more power.
"Ah, yes, it was fate," she told him jokingly. She really didn't believe in any of that sort of thing, "I was kind of surprised to see someone else over here, though," she told him, "Normally I come here for some alone time, since no one really likes going near that monster of a tree," she added. She laughed when he thanked her, "Yeah, sure, you're welcome. But don't get a big head or anything," she joked. She was a bit surprised when he said that his family was one of the purest, but it made sense, "I'm sure my family is, too. They hate muggle borns. It sort of rubbed off on me, too," she admitted. She really didn't feel ashamed of this fact, "What about your family? And why did they suddenly decide to send you to Hogwarts, anyway, if you'd been home schooled for so long?" she asked suddenly.

Although you could have done more Arthur smirked slightly he could see she didn't realy believe him but he figured if she never did see him completely angry then that was a good ting for both of them. "Oh wow, that would be amazing" Arthur said with a smirk he could just imagine them ruling the world sat upon thrones.
"I'm sure the tree isn't as bad as people make it out to be, if you moved towards it realy slowly it probably wouldnt hit you.." he said but that was just a theory. "I don't think I'd look that good with a big head" he joked although it probably would have looked weird. "Same, i mean i have nothing against them personally but my family.. pressure me sometimes" he told her glad she could relate with a lot of what he had to say. "What do you want to know about my family exactly?" he asked her curiously then answered her question "Well i don't realy know, my cousin.. Beth.. i think she believes its because the youngest of us wanted to go to what she said was 'the big pretty castle with the nice people' .. something like that" Oh your so naive yet so.. Samantha grinned widely as she thought of the possibilities. Hell, it wasn't impossible, and at their current age, they could get a good start, "We would have to strengthen our magical abilities. Become the best of the best. Then again, I already am.." she said cockily, as if she was actually literally planning out how they would take over the world, "Then we would need to gain followers. We may have to use force if it gets difficult.. Threaten them, you know, all that good stuff," she stopped there, realizing she probably sounded like some sort of psychopath, "Or we can go about our boring lives," she added, shrugging lightly.
"Well, I wouldn't suggest that you find out the hard way," she told him honestly, "I'm pretty sure that no matter how slowly you move, it'll still sense you and strike out," she warned, "But go ahead and try if you want. I'll just watch as you get tossed all the way to the forbidden forest," she told him with a small smirk, "Well, physically, you probably would look weird with a big head," she agreed, chuckling.
"Oh, well, my family pretty much hates anything that isn't magical. Then again, I barely ever see my parents.. they're always off on 'business'," at the word business, she made air quotes with her hands, "But yeah, it sounds like our families can be a bit similar.. Except I don't have tons of siblings and cousins and stuff," she added, "So.. what do your parents do? I'm assuming they have jobs in the wizarding world.." she trailed off slightly, realizing that that was a bit of a random question. She laughed at his explanation for why they were sent to Hogwarts. She brushed some of her blond hair behind her shoulder before continuing, "So what made them want to home school you in the first place, then?" she asked with a raised brow toward Arthur.

Although you could have done more Arthur smiled slightly Sam seemed to have it planned out already. "I bet i could give you a run for your money" he told her with a smirk he was fairly skilled with magic and could perform tons of spells with his eyes closed and his arms numb. Serpensortia was his favourite spell.. he never realy used it against people he tended to just use it to have something to talk to. "Well with my family behind us that's a small army already" he told her with a smirk knowing for sure his family would back him up in anything.. well most things anyway. "A life with you in it couldn't be boring. could it?" he asked her with a smirk.
"Yeah maybe its best not to test that out.." he said with a laugh and nodded when she said he physically would look weird with a big head, everyone would. It would be worrying if someone looked normal with a big head.
"Well I'm magical so i bet i could charm the socks off them" he said with a smile, he was actually fairly good at speaking to adults as he could be extremely polite but that was the way he was bought up to be. "You might.. they all might be long lost though" he suggested with a smirk wondering how weird it would be to discover you had an entire family you didn't know about. "Maybe that's where your parents are realy going, your enormous family home in the country" he joked. "You know.. 'Business'" he said copying her air quotes at the word business, he then had to think about her next question. "Haven't got a clue, its always been that way since i was born.." "Oh, really? Is that a challenge? I doubt you stand a chance against me," she replied simply. Though it probably wasn't true, she was going to assure herself of this, anyway. She always liked knowing that she was better than everyone else, even if she wasn't. She nodded slightly, staring up at the sky as she thought about this, "True, true. That would help quite a bit," she replied, "Though I doubt my own small family would be of much help.. I guess that's a good start," she added. Her smirk grew at his comment, "Oh, no, most definitely not. And I'm sure you don't get all that boring, either," she told him with a small laugh.
"You should read up on that tree. It's fairly interesting, actually," she told him, "Though it is dangerous.. obviously," she added, "I hear there is some secret tunnel sort of thing that leads to Hogsmeade at the roots," she muttered, looking toward the tree in thought, "Never thought to try it out, though, since I never found a reason for it. Who knows, it might be a trap," she added.
"I wouldn't try to talk to them if I were you.. I don't think anything can charm them," she replied honestly. She never really liked her parents very much, since they were never really around. Even though they spoiled her with everything she'd ever wanted, being wealthy like they were, she was still bitter toward them. She paused for a moment, thoughtful, "Eh, even if I did have tons of relatives I suddenly discover, I doubt they'd be worth my time to speak to," she assumed. She let out a small laugh at his next statement, "Wow, I never thought of that.. it sounds plausible," she replied, grinning at Arthur, "I dunno if they even have a job.. Seriously we just inherited our fortune, it's not like they make a load of money," she explained. She couldn't imagine what her life would have been like if she had been home schooled for the entire first part of her Hogwarts years, "That really sucks, though," she admitted, "Did you live near anyone? Or were you completely shut out from society?"

I'm not saying it was your fault.
Although you could have done more "Don't take me for granted, I'm a Dalton" he said with a small smirk sounding a bit like something from a movie. "But of course i don't want to duel you, it'll probably come back to bite me when we both rule the world" he told her with a smile. "Well with both of us not being boring we could get up to all kinds of stuff" he told her with a grin.
Arthur's eyes open at the talk of a secret passage leading to Hogsmeade. "Well if we could find a way to stop the tree we could try it sometime" he suggested with a smirk then added "And if its a trap then I'll go first that way i get 'trapped and you can get help" he suggested, he wasn't afraid of getting trapped or lost or even killed to be honest he just wanted to live an exciting life even if it was short.
"Look at me, i could charm a dragon" he said giving her a wink with a smirk on his face. "Well its not very realistic realy but i suppose if you did have a huge family they could join our army" he said with a small laugh. "we lived near people but never realy spoke to anyone, you can see our house from the top of the astronomy tower actually" he told her, he had actually checked. Oh your so naive yet so.. Samantha couldn't help but look him over with a smirk and an 'are you serious?' look written upon her face, "Wow, well, you sound quite sure of yourself," she acknowledged. She, in all honesty, wasn't really up for a duel anyway. It had been a while since she had participated in a nice, competitive duel, but still. She was actually considering herself friends with Arthur now, and she would feel bad if she managed to knock him out, "Yes, we could be an unstoppable duo of destruction and what-not," she joked with a laugh.
"I read about how to stop the tree from moving, but I can't remember where.. or what it said," she began. It sounded like a rather interesting adventure to embark on, "I could probably check the library out for a book on the whomping willow.. I'm sure I'll find something. Or just ask some prankster-like student. There bound to know where it leads to, too," she added, "And if it is a trap, who's to say I won't just leave you there to die and not get help?" she asked jokingly. Of course she wasn't serious, though.
"Well now, you're quite full of yourself," she informed him. She had to admit, he was quite a bit charming when he wanted to be, but she knew even that couldn't possibly work on her parents. But the fact that he was from one of the most purest wizarding families left may help him out a bit, "I'm sure if I discovered I had a bunch of younger cousins, I could use force and intimidation on them. That's quite simple," she stated, smirking at the thought. She couldn't help but raise a brow at his last statement, "Wow, so you've really had no interaction with anyone besides family?" she asked, rather shocked. That was basically how her life was, until she was accepted into Hogwarts.

Although you could have done more Arthur smirked at her "That's because i am sure of myself" he told her with a small laugh, he was fairly sure he could handle himself in a duel he figured he was probably the best dueler out of the Dalton's.. except maybe Beth and Josh but they were older. "Yes we shall rule the world" he said with a smirk then let out a rather lame evil laugh.
"Well that's helpful" he said sarcastically to her with a smile. "well you bring the brain and I'll bring the good looks" he joked then smirked slightly "I know you wouldnt leave me because i trust you" he admitted, he had realy grown to like Sam over the brief time he had known her.
"Well someone has to be" he said then thought about what he said for a moment "That did not come out right" he said with a laugh scratching the back of his neck. "Not realy, it was just the family and me.. and occasionally people my parents know but i didn't realy talk to them". Oh your so naive yet so.. Samantha couldn't help but laugh, herself, at his attempt at an evil laugh, "That's a good start.. but you'll need to work on that a bit more. We have some time, though," she told him with a grin. She didn't feel like letting the other topic rest, though. She wanted the last word on it, "But, I would beat you at a duel. Don't underestimate me," she told him simply, her grin turning into a menacing smirk.
"Oh, what, I don't have the good looks?" she asked jokingly, "I'm sure if we had a good-look duel off, as well, I would win by a landslide," though she would admit he was good looking, she'd never let the thought of anyone being more good looking than her, enter her brain. She was very proud when it came to her looks and her brains, and she often had a large ego because of this.
At his statement, Sam couldn't help but burst out laughing. It was a full out laugh, this time. This was really the first time she had laughed like this in a long time. Hell, it was the first time she had had this long of a conversation with someone in a long time. She calmed herself down, taking deep breaths, "Yeah, wow," she muttered, slightly out of breath as she tried to collect herself, "Huh, that must have sucked," she stated, "I can sort of understand why you are the way you are, then," she added, referring to how she first found him; Alone and talking to himself, "No offense, of course," she added quickly with a small smile, "How are the others taking to the school?" she asked curiously. She hadn't met any other Daltons, yet.
