i must confess , i’m in love with my own sins ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Clarke was officially annoyed. It did not take much to annoy her nowadays. This was like the straw that broke the camels back, as the Muggles would say. Her parents had decided that it would be advantageous for the children to go to Hogwarts. She couldn't see how it was to their advantage to come to school at this point in their life. They had been doing just fine. It didn't seem fair to be transferred in when she had been doing just fine. She was fifteen, for Merlin's sake! It was better for her twelve year old cousin, Kelsie, who was a first year. She didn't have to worry about trying to find a place in groups that were already set. Not everyone was willing to accept any more members into their cliches.
Then again, she really didn't want to try. Her parents didn't want them to associate themselves with Muggleborns... Mudbloods. Clarke could not find it in herself to care one way or the other but she wouldn't do anything that she wasn't allowed to do. So, no Mudbloods for her. She sighed as she sat down on a bench. The courtyard was amazing. She had just recently found the place on her explorations of the castle. As it was an unknown, Clarke wanted to find out as much as she could about this place that her parents had subjected them to. Here she could be outside and close to nature without the side effect to being sunburnt, which was easier for her because she was blonde and fair-skinned.
"This has got to be a nightmare," she muttered to herself. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - THIS THREAD IS finished. AND IT’S FOR tags go here. Trevor, deciding it was about time he went back to his good old ways, had found himself crouched behind a bench in the courtyard, hidden within the bushes. Earlier he had decided that it was time to do something fun, something he hadn't done in a while. Of course, he was beginning to understand that his plans of fun usually backfired and caused him more trouble instead. He knew he would have to be just a bit more careful from now on.
If anyone had seen him walking earlier, they would have known he was up to no good. The only way to describe him in those moments would be to call him a flat out 'creeper' just by the way he was walking. It wasn't normal, nor casual. He wasn't walking with his usual swagger. He was taking large, slow strides, while in a half crouch. He was trying to act stealthy, but knew it was causing him more attention instead. Which was actually what he was truly aiming for.
So, having been sitting, enclosed within this bush for a good two minutes now, ready to jump out and scare the next person who sat down on that bench, he was just about to leave. So far there had been no luck, and he wasn't much of a patient man. Then, just before he was about to move, a girl took a seat on the bench. Score! He put a hand over his mouth to keep himself from laughing as he heard her comment, and took that moment to pounce.
Trev flailed his way out of the bush in one jump, making quite a bit of noise, and grabbed the girls shoulders from behind, "What's the matter, break a nail?" he cackled in response to the previous comment she had aimed toward no one.

Taken completely unawares, Clarke let out a shriek and allowed her hand to fly up to her neck. It wasn't as if she hadn't heard the noises coming from the vicinity of the bushes. She was just ignoring it. When the person came up behind her and grabbed her shoulders, she was shocked. Turning her head around fast in an attempt to see the person, she was met with a blonde haired, blue-eyed Hufflepuff.
Momentarily speechless, Clarke tried to remember if she had seen him before. Of course, being newly installed at Hogwarts, she had no idea who half the people were. This boy was older than her, that much she knew. She didn't know anyone from Hufflepuff except one of her brothers and her cousin, Arthur. It wasn't something she was proud of but she didn't actually care at the moment. Allowing herself to become angry, she finally answered him.
"No, actually, I didn't," she shot back at him, her voice dripping with annoyance.

Overjoyed that he had managed to startle the girl like he intended, he felt like jumping up and down in celebration. Of course, he could save that for a later time. As long as he managed to survive the rest of his time here. He knew when he pissed off girls, that they could get quite feisty and frightening. He'd end up leaving with some form of injury. He couldn't help but let the huge grin take over his features, showing his deep and obvious smile lines.
His hands fell back to his sides as he examined the girl. She didn't seem very familiar, though she was younger than him by the looks of it. Strange, because he normally recognized everyone, though he wouldn't know all of their names. Her annoyance didn't wipe the grin from his face, it only made it wider. Why was it that he loved annoying people so much?
"Hm, boyfriend break up with you, then?" he assumed yet again, "That's usually why you girls go around moping and.. what was it? Saying that this was a.. nightmare, was it?" he raised a brow at her before taking a seat on the bench that she had been seated on, "You're a teenager, seriously, it wasn't meant to be. Build a bridge, get over it, yada yada yada," he concluded, in some way trying to help her out with her situation, "Go listen to some Taylor Swift so you can relate to her grossly sappy.. ick songs," he finished. For all he knew, the girl wouldn't know who the heck Taylor Swift even was, since she was a muggle singer, and she was a bit of old news anyway. Being muggle born, Trev knew more about the muggle world still than the wizarding world.

Clarke glared at the boy, wondering why he was even bothering. It's not like she had welcomed him with open arms. Sometimes, Clarke really did not understand people. She didn't get people like him, who stuck around after being given the kind of treatment she had dished out in just one sentence. It made her feel kind of bad. Then he sat down and started talking.
Her glare dropped and her face softened. For some reason, this boy seemed to be trying to help her. Although he was extremely far away from the actual point of the matter. It amused her and a small smile began to grow on her lips. By the time he stopped talking, Clarke had a large grin on her face.
"No. I don't have a boyfriend. You're actually really far from the point of the matter. Who's Taylor Swift, by the way?" she asked, slightly confused by this.
It might be a Muggle singer, in which case this boy was either Halfblood or Muggleborn. Clarke rather hoped it was the former and not the latter because then she'd be in serious trouble. Although, it wasn't like her parents could actually see her from here...What was she kidding? Muggleborn translates into Mudblood which means "NO!"

As Trevor turned to look at the younger girl after finishing his lengthy speech, he was just a bit surprised to see a rather large grin written upon her face. He had been expecting to see a scowl of some sort, accompanied by a deadly glare. That was normally what he received in these situations, "Hm, really?" he asked curiously, genuinely surprised, "No, don't tell me, don't tell me. I want to keep guessing," he told her quickly, hoping that she wouldn't tell him the real reason she was in this mood, if she even was going to in the first place.
At the mention of Taylor Swift, he decided he would explain. It was only fair, "She once reigned the muggle music charts, she couldn't decide if she was pop or country. Really annoying, if you ask me. Girls were obsessed with her music because.." he trailed off, trying to think of a way to describe her music, "Well, it was all about guys and crap, pretty much. Breaking up, getting together, whatever. To put it lightly, pure garbage. Her voice pierced my eardrums in a way that was unforgivable. Not to mention she looks like a cat that ran into a window," he took that moment to complete his rather long and agonizing description of Taylor Swift.
Trev took a deep breath, "I'm muggleborn.. so I would know these things," he shrugged. He wasn't bothered with the fact that he was from a completely muggle family. In fact, he found it sort of funny that even his older sister wasn't given his special abilities. Sure, he occasionally got crap from the 'mudblood' haters, but he didn't see why they seemed so bitter toward his kind. His bright blue eyes roamed the courtyard for a moment before turning back to the girl, "So.. let me see here.. Did you fail some form of school work? Is that it?" he asked, "I know I'm going to get this right sooner or later.." he trailed off, determined to be able to guess, on his own, what the girl's problem was.

She saw the surprise on his face when he looked at her. It didn't take much to guess that he was shocked at seeing the grin that played around on her features. Clarke sat back down again on the bench and turned to face him.
His description of that Taylor Swift girl amused her and she said, "It sounds like something I would completely hate.I'm Pureblood, so I only have to deal with stuff like Celestina Warbeck.. "
When he started up talking again she could feel her heart sink into the pit of her stomach. So he was Muggleborn. It wouldn't be a good thing to be found talking to him but he was rather amusing. Besides, she wanted to see if he could get it right.
"No, I rarely fail my classwork," she supplied without a drop of arrogance in her tone. It was merely a fact that she did well.

"Well, good. I have a bit more respect for you, then," he told her with a small chuckle. Hearing the she was pureblood didn't surprise him all too much. Most people he knew happened to be half blood, though, but there were the purebloods here and there. He didn't dislike her for it, especially since she seemed to be fine with speaking to him. If she disliked muggleborns, she probably would have made an excuse to leave right when he mentioned it. So far, so good.
"Celestina Warbeck is a weird name," he couldn't help but comment rather randomly, "It doesn't even sound like a name.." he added, "It sounds more like a disease or something," he rambled on. He honestly didn't care that he was sounding like a complete moron. He normally did, and it was just how he was. He usually liked being the class clown and causing people to laugh or something like that, causing himself plenty of attention.
Trevor looked her over for a moment, "Hm.. " he began. He couldn't deny the fact that she was fairly attractive, but he wasn't going to be the mega d-bag he normally was. First off, she had to be at least a couple years younger than him, and the last time he had gone down that road, it was a huge mistake that he regretted deeply. He could already tell that his 'player' ways were starting to change ever since that incident, "Rarely, meaning you do occasionally, though?" he joked.
He honestly couldn't think of anything else. Now, he decided he would just list random scenarios, "Your cat or your pet died? You don't like that the weather is getting warmer? Your girlfriend dumped you? You're pregnant? You're having a bad hair day? Personally, I don't think you are.. Your cat is pregnant? You gained a pound after breakfast? You lost your supply of cosmetics? You just found out your mother isn't a woman at all, but a man who is some type of cross dresser?" he stopped to take a breath, and watched her, awaiting to see if any of those assumptions were correct.

Clarke found herself becoming increasingly amused and the smile seemed to be widening until it was practically splitting her face. She couldn't help it, he was too amusing. So, he had more respect for her after hearing that? Well, that was pretty funny because she wasn't aware that he had any to begin with. It was pretty funny to hear him say that, though. In all actuality, Clarke didn't like music unless it was made by her. She liked to sing although she wasn't altogether good. That just made her dislike music even more. She didn't tell him that though.
"Yeah, you're right. Sometimes people in the wizarding world have weird names," she spoke in a thoughtful tone of voice.
Seeing him look her over slightly, she smiled softly and returned it. He wasn't bad looking, for a Muggleborn. Here her smile dropped off of her face. Ugh. Maybe it was a mistake to be talking to him but she really didn't want to leave. She was lonely. Her siblings were all in other houses and only her cousin Kelsie was a Ravenclaw. Kelsie was a first year and they weren't exactly on the same level. Clarke was just worried that this boy would leave and not talk to her again just because she was fifteen.
"No, my cat is fine, thanks. I love the warmth and summer is my favorite season. I don't have a girlfriend, either. I'm not homosexual. I can't be pregnant as I'm a virgin. Thank you, I don't think I'm having a bad hair day, either. I sincerely hope I did not gain a pound after breakfast but that would not matter much. Uhm... No, I don't think my cat can be pregnant, actually. I think she's fixed. Actually, I don't wear a lot of makeup so I don't think that's much of an issue. If my mother was a cross dresser or something, then I really wouldn't want to know," she said in a dry voice.
It was really funny that he was taking a shot in the dark but he was the one who wanted to know and he had said himself that he wanted to keep on guessing. Personally, Clarke didn't think that he would guess it but this would amuse her for a while. She wondered what his name was.

Trevor was quite proud of himself that he seemed to be amusing this girl. Then again, that was what he managed to do best. Whether they be laughing at him or with him, it was still somehow worth causing. At the mention of names, he realized that he had no clue who this girl was. Not even the slightest idea. He could start making random guesses on her name, too, but that would be just too much guessing for one day, "Speaking of names, I'm pretty sure you have one. So, what would it be?" he asked, wording the question a little more strange than usual, and luckily for him he hadn't notice the smile drop suddenly from her face, as he had been looking elsewhere at the time.
With all of this new information she seemed to be giving him, Trev tried to store it in his memory. That was quite a bit he just found out about her in that short amount of time, "Sheesh," he muttered when she finished speaking, "My brain hurts.. I haven't done this much thinking in a while," he told her jokingly, "I've said everything that has ever happened to anyone ever and I'm still wrong.. how is that even possible?" that statement seemed more aimed toward himself than her.
"Okay.. let's see here. You.. spilled coffee on your new blouse, and.. had to go change?" he asked awkwardly. Great, these guesses just kept getting lamer and lamer. He ran a hand through his blond hair, letting out a sigh in frustration. Suddenly, he clapped his hands together, "Ah! I know! When the teacher was handing out lollipops, you wanted the blue one, but the teacher wouldn't let you switch, and you were stuck with the red one?" he asked hopefully. In all his years at Hogwarts, though, the teachers never handed out lollipops. Maybe that was too muggle-ish for them, "No! Wait! I totally have this!" Trev jumped suddenly from the bench he was on, twirled on his heel, and stood in front of the Ravenclaw, pointing a finger at her, "You're cross-dressing mother forgot it was your birthday today and didn't send you an owl! Well, happy birthday, kid. We can go out later and celebrate with some butterbeer."

"Well, I was just actually wondering the same thing about you. My name is Clarke Dalton," she said, feeling awkward and wondering if the name would mean anything to him.
"I wasn't aware that Hufflepuff's could think," she jokingly said. It was true, she thought. None of the Hufflepuffs she had met until now had seemed to be competent in any way. It appeared that he wasn't that bad.
She didn't comment when he threw out the random question that mostly seemed to be asked of himself. Besides, Clarke really didn't have an answer to that. It was still rather funny because he just seemed to be taking more random shots in the dark and that was pretty cute.
Making a face at the mention of coffee she said, "I really don't like coffee at all. I've been wearing this since I put it on this morning."
"Actually, I've never been giving a lollipop at school. As for my birthday, I won't be sixteen until October," she offered, a half smile on her face, before continuing,"But if you want, I'll take that butterbeer offer at some later date."
Here she smirked slightly, cocking her head as she regarded him.

Trevor thought for a moment as she told him her name. He honestly couldn't remember ever hearing that name before, so it didn't mean much to him. If he had been paying attention to the current rumors and talk floating about the school from student to student, he would have been familiar with the name Dalton and what it meant. But, being that he wasn't very in tune to his surroundings lately, he didn't know this, "I'm Trevor. Trevor Schumacher. I know, it's a pretty cool name, and you're jealous you don't have it," he joked lamely.
"Oh, haha!" he replied, "Well, most of us can, but not very much. And it's quite difficult," he joked with a grin, "But with you being a Ravenclaw and such, you think you're smarter than everyone, huh? Psh.." he shook his head, waving his hand dismissively. He decided that, after his excited outburst, he would take a seat once more. Of course, he had to be wrong again. How hard could this be?
"Ah, how strange. I don't like coffee either!" he was actually fairly excited to find someone else who also disliked the beverage, "Everyone seems to love it and live off of it, and I felt all alone. Until now, of course," although he was still slightly annoyed he hadn't discovered the reason why she seemed unhappy, he was still determined to figure it out, even if it took him all day, "So it's not your birthday... But, oh dang, you're birthday is in October? Well so is mine. How very odd," he mumbled thoughtfully. He grinned at the thought of going out for butterbeer sometime, "I could probably arrange that. It would be in celebration of me finally figuring out what's bothering you,"
Suddenly he jumped up once more from his seat, "You found out you were adopted! And you're really my long lost.. twin sister.. Um, see, this is what happened. They used a needle to take you out of the womb when you were a fertilized egg, then froze you for a couple years, then popped you back into the oven the same exact day they took you out. You were born, my mom thought you were boring, then put you in a basket and set you out across the Atlantic, where you were soon discovered by who you thought was your real mother, the cross-dressing male, as he was farming rice along the shores!" he stopped finally, trying to catch his breath from that lengthy explanation. If that wasn't correct, he didn't know what was.

Clarke's mouth dropped open in surprise. She knew that the entire school was talking about them and they did nothing to hide it. So, apparently this boy didn't listen much or he was oblivious. Finding herself oddly grateful for this, she chose not to enlighten him on what it meant to be a Dalton.
"Schumaker is a pretty odd surname, actually. And I like my name fine, thanks," she said casually, not meaning any offense but merely stating her opinion.
"I thought it was pretty funny. I don't think I'm smarter than everyone else, I know I am."she stated jokingly. Well, for the most part anyways.
Trevor sat down again, seeming to be lost in thought. It was obviously important to him that he figure it out but she was beginning to have her doubts that he would. His next statement made her smile.
" I know what you mean. People always seem to have coffee and never tea which really isn't all too proper, if you ask me," she offered.
She had been about to say something about the odd coincidence that their birthdays were both in October but she was stopped by another one of his outbursts. Clarke listened, dumbfounded but still amused at the effort he was putting into this. The boy was coming up with the most random scenarios. She found that she enjoyed it.
" Yes, my birthday is on October 21st. As for the butterbeer, that's probably never going to happen," now she was pouting (to her amusement and surprise) as she said, "You're never going to get it right. How can I possibly be your twin? I look nothing like you."
It was true, of course. They both had blonde hair (hers was paler) and blue eyes but that was it.

Trevor shook his head slightly, "Lies. I see the jealousy in your eyes, trust me," he replied jokingly, "Of course, if my mom hadn't thought you were boring and sent you off across the sea, you would have my amazing surname," he added, brushing some blond hair from his eyes, "I guess it wasn't your fault, though. You were a baby, so you wouldn't know how to be interesting. Me, on the other hand.. I was an amazing baby," he added.
He took a seat back on the bench, still winded from his long explanation, "Eh, you Ravenclaws are all the same. I bet if we had a smartness battle, I would be victorious," he told her, though he was pretty sure he would lose dramatically, "Coffee is disgusting," he stated simply, making a face. He thought for a moment and sighed rather loud and obnoxiously as he seemed to be staring off at nothing, "That's like.." he paused to count on his fingers, "Ten days before my birthday," of course, he had been pretending to count on his fingers as a joke on his intellect.
Trev's lip jutted out in a spectacular pout at this fact, "Okay, well I'm not giving up.. but can you at least give me some sort of hint? That wouldn't be cheating, would it?" he asked. He was stuck, and knew that he would never be able to figure this out if everything else had been incorrect. Then again, maybe when he found out, it would be something obvious that he had missed, "Hey, we look.. kind of alike. Okay, well, not really. Oh, I know. So my mom had a threesome that night with two dudes, one being my dad and one being some hobo off the street. So, what happened was, she had two eggs that accidentally made it into the little place of.. cooking.. and each on of the guys ha-" he stopped there, realizing that he was probably going too far, "Your too young to understand that.. So you should just give me a hint," he finished with a goofy grin.

"Well, that's true, I suppose. I really was a rather boring baby," she said with a sigh, "Although I don't see how you could have been much more interesting."
It was very amusing, this little scenario. She had always wondered what it would be like to be a twin. Her older siblings had always caused her envy with how close they were. Clarke really wished sometimes that she had someone, even if it wasn't a twin, to be that close to.
"Oh, I don't doubt that. You are older than me after all," she spoke seriously in reference to the statement that he would win in a "smartness" battle.
He began to pout and that amused her even more. It was funny because she herself had just done that. That was so funny. Clarke pondered over whether or not she should just come right out and say it but then realized that it would take the fun out of it all.
"So, you're birthday's the 31st? That's so cool. I've always wanted to have my birthday on Halloween. I guess I could help you out. It has a lot to do with the fact that I'm at Hogwarts..."she said before trailing off and taking on a look of anger.
" Did you seriously just insinuate that I don't know what sex is? I'm fifteen, Schumacher. Most fifteen year olds know what sex is. I think you did, didn't you? Don't candy coat something just because I'm 'younger' than you," she said angrily.
Okay, she might have overreacted to that but the fact remained that she hated being treated like a child by other people. That was why she had older siblings and they often did the same thing. It irritated her and she glared slightly at the boy. Although, it wasn't the full force of her glare because she liked him. Simple as that. She found him funny and amusing and that softened the blow.
