Location; The Black Lake Time; 2 O'Clock AM
A young woman with ebony black hair walked slowly towards the edge of the forbidden forest. It was about two in the morning and the young girl could not sleep. She knew that she was breaking about a million rules with this little excursion and thought that, perhaps, she was channelling her brother in her recklessness but she continued on her path. If anyone saw her they would note how much it was unlike this, usually intelligent, Ravenclaw to break the rules. Dressed in denim jeans, a white tank top and a black jumper that was two sizes too big, her slightly worn sneakers scuffing through the freshly fallen snow as she walked. She brushed a strand of hair, that had fallen from the high ponytail, behind her ears and pulled her arms to hug herself tight against the slight breeze. She scanned the grounds carefully, noting that the lights in the castle and the groundskeeper's hut had been put out. It was a miracle in itself that she, the more inexperienced of the Phelps twins, had managed to sneak from the castle, past the prefects, but then again her parents had been known for doing just that, according to her grandfather.
The young woman, Siria Phelps, was so alike her mother in many ways if one over looked the fact she was a Ravenclaw and usually thought things through (something she had not done tonight) but tonight she had needed to get away, to relax from the chatter, to go somewhere peaceful. She snorted at the irony, the forbidden forest, peaceful? It was definately laughable. With a small sigh the shy young girl began to sing to herself, sensing that no-one was around. "Don't let anyone tell you that you're not strong enough. Don't give up, there's nothing wrong with just being yourself. That's more than enough..." She reached the border of the forest and, hearing a crunching sound from just inside the boundary, thought better of it, perhaps she wasn't that brave after all. She turned on her heel slightly, making her way to the edge of the lake that sat near enough to the forest. She continued her song to calm herself as she chose a spot under a tree where there was very little snow and sat down, leaning her back against it.
The lake really did look magnificent during the day but it was nothing to the dark depths that appeared there at night, the moon reflected in the water as it rippled, disturbed by the multitude of bugs. It was sad to note that in the extreme cold that Winter had brought, the lake had frozen over. She pulled her knees towards her chest and rested her chin on her knees, locking her arms around her legs to hold them in place. A soft smile grazed her lips as a screech echoed in the night and a small bird landed, rather clumsily, beside her, his feathers all over the place. How had the little bird known where to find her at this hour? "Hello Olly" she said softly, laughing as the little barn owl jumped excitedly towards her and held out its leg. She took the letter, curious as to who would be writing to her at this hour. She held the letter in her hand, unopened, as her attention turned back to her owl who was now chasing a bug while attempting to scratch (or so she thought given that his leg was lifted up towards his neck, but then again you never knew when it came to Olly). She sighed, how in the world did she end up with such a strange animal as a familiar.

raven. jasmeena.crae if no one can hurt uthen nobody luvs uand no one can save u Raven walked through the grounds, stepping lightly on the grass. She looked around, no one was there. Raven put back a lock of black hair, wondering if she would be caught. And would she have an excuse? Nope. Just a fifteen year-old girl, wandering out at... she checked her watch. 2:04 am. She looked up at the black sky and the glittery pattern that made up the stars. She pulled her hood up, and continued to walk. How did I get out? Why am I here? She wondered. She smiled. Right. I need to think, about everything. Raven put her hands in her sweater pockets, and looked up at the castle. It was dark, all the lights were out.
Raven walked towards the Black Lake slowly, wary of anybody else who was planning on sneaking out. She frowned. Being an outcast, they would also rat her out. Unless they became a friend. It better not be a Slytherin. She shuddered. Professor Malfoy would kill her. Being a minute or two late for curfew was one thing, sneaking out at two in the morning was another. She shrugged. Meh, whatever. Then another thought crossed her mind: Quidditch. She couldn't afford to get detention, they needed to practice. She needed to practice.
Her conscience getting the better of her, she turned and began walking back to the castle. Just as she was pondering how she was going to get back inside, again without getting caught, she walked into someone. "Omigod I am so sorry!" Raven completely forgot about being quiet. "Sorry, I just.... bloody hel-, I can't see! Lumos!" With that, the tip of the long wand ignited. Raven dimmed it by covering it with her hand. In the dim wandlight, she could barely see the person in front of her, but noticed that this person was not a Slytherin, but a Ravenclaw. A seventh year who she had never really talked to. "Siria.... Phelps, right?" She asked, for she couldn't see exactly who it was. Siria had been lost in thought, various things flooding her mind but her father was at the forefront. She did not care what her mother said or what her brother would do if he found out she was contemplating it again, she needed to find the man, to let him know they existed, at least then she would know whether or not he would have wanted children, as oppose to all these unanswered questions. It was all so confusing, and if she was honest with herself, it was giving her a headache. She was jolted, rather rudely, from her musings as someone walked straight into her, making her wince slightly. Olly took flight from the ground and the young girl felt a little lost as her friend flew away, he would return later when there wasn't so much commotion.
"Omigod I am so sorry!" "Sorry, I just.... bloody hel-, I can't see! Lumos!"
Siria had just been ready to say everything was fine, hoping that whoever had disturbed her peace would not snitch on her to one of the teachers, merlin forbid a Ravenclaw get caught outside after curfew... way after curfew! She winced, squinting slightly as the light was ignited from the end of the other girl's wand. The pitch of her companion's voice had told her it was definately female, so she was getting somewhat closer to discovering who they were. She waited a few moment for her eyes to adjust, rubbing them slightly as small coloured circles appeared in her line of vision. Soon enough it wasn't all that painful to open them, a process that had taken less time than usual, suprisingly, it was then that she noticed the other girl had dimmed the light of the wand with her hand well that would explain it she thought.
"Siria.... Phelps, right?"
Siria had to think for a moment, the words didn't seem to register in her mind and she felt a little stupid for her delayed response "ah... yeah" she said, cautiously, as she adjusted her position on the ground so that she was more comfortable and the tree was not digging into her back. Looking towards the sillouette of the girl in front of her, she could make out the dark hair that adorned the girl's head and a few features that were rather indistinct, it was too dark to see and she was on the wrong side of the wand light, which didn't help her case. She glanced towards the castle, rather nervously, the girl had not exactly been quiet a moment ago. She looked at her companion, even in the dim light of the wand she looked familiar, too familiar to be anything other than a Ravenclaw. "You will have to pardon my rudeness but it is rather difficult to see you and I do not believe I have properly learnt your name" she said, more to save herself the embarassment. Siria paid little attention to those that she did not meet properly and, more often than not, she was spending time with her brother and a few of his friends anyway, so it was not hard to see why she had not learnt the younger girl's name.

raven. jasmeena.crae if no one can hurt uthen nobody luvs uand no one can save u Raven smiled. "Sorry, I'm Raven Crae. In Ravenclaw too, but fifth year. You're...?" She couldn't remember what year Siria was in. She lowered her wand. "So, what are you doing here?" She asked. Then she realized that Siria would probably ask her the same thing. "Me, I got bored. An I needed to, er.... think about stuff." She shrugged, then looked up at the castles. The windows were still dark. Good, nobody would be coming after them. At least, she hoped not. She looked back at Siria, waiting for her to reply.
