Yes, a Slytherin student was actually doing some work. Yes, she was intending to stay in the library. Yes, she was being serious. Although, due to the amount of questions, the young woman wasn’t as confident with her first answer as she was when she first arrived. She couldn’t really be certain that she was going to be able to work, if all of these annoying little students were going to keep asking her such pointless things. Was it really that surprising that a Slytherin wanted to find somewhere to do some work? Evidently it was, because passing students still felt the need to query her. If this continued to happen, she might consider changing her answer to the second question also. Nobody could be expected to reach their full working potential when they were interrupted every half hour. Finally, she gave up, and turned her full attention away from these numerous annoyances and chose to ignore the voices of anyone else in close proximity. To be completely ironic, this was probably the time that someone said something important.
Holding the three pieces of parchment in her hand, she couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. When she had mentioned that she quite liked essay writing, it wasn’t a signal that she wanted to write about four in a week. It was merely a statement. Sadly, the professors at Hogwarts seemed to be unable to understand simple statements and interpreted them incorrectly. Picking up the top sheet again, she took a quill and underlined the title. She’d managed to finish a grand total of one in the first three days. It wasn’t even as if she had had other things occupying her time, she simply couldn’t summon the motivation to do any work until now. Ah well, only three more to go. She’d done the easiest one first, which left her, amongst others, the lesson she hated the most. That one was going to be saved until last. She didn’t need to aggravate herself any further. She figured as long as she sacrificed some other daily activities, like dinnertime, she’d manage to finish them all in suitable time.
Scratching at the parchment yet again, it was a wonder to many how her handwriting remained so neat. Perhaps, she hoped that a nice presentation would distract from what she had actually written, for a few minutes at least. Not that the content of her essays was bad. If she made the effort, they were usually of a good quality. But at two-thirty on a Saturday afternoon, her eagerness to write about dull topics like the history of sixteenth century dwarves was not on her favourite weekend activity list. It was only once she looked up again that she realised that a reasonable silence had fallen. Something that she was quite grateful for. Her hands searched the worn textbook that sat next to her current focus. Nothing in the textbook was particularly exciting either. Finding the page that she required, she grabbed the quill again and dipped it in the ink, before beginning to write. And so all went well for the next five or ten minutes. So immersed in her work, was she, that the appearance of a fellow person was not noticed.

Even though she was only a second year she had large amounts of homework. A paper for transfiguration and an essay for potions. She was not looking forward to writing the essay, potions was her least favourite subject, the one she was horrible at. Pandora looked around for a table to sit at and was surprised to see her sister sitting, reading a text book.
The Gryffindor walked over to where her sister was and put her books down. "Hey Jaslene," She said sitting down across from the older girl. She wasn't sure how her sister would react, after all, Pandora was four years younger than her sister and in a different house. She leaned back, clasping her hands and waited to see if Jaslene would even acknowledge her. [/blockquote] ---------------- Status: finished! It was strange, even to her, but those few minutes of silence allowed her to make progress. Although the topic was particularly dull, silence was permitting her to make a decent start to this lovely essay. When she was about halfway through the second paragraph, she was interrupted. The sudden noise of another person entering the room made her jump. So much so that she dropped her bottle of ink all over her work. “Shit!”
she exclaimed, rushing to try and prevent the ink spill from covering the rest of the table. She couldn’t stop saying this same word; it seemed, for a few minutes, while she examined the state of both her work and the table it had been sitting upon. The state of neither was a happy one. Glancing up, she noticed the person was of a small figure, so she imagined they were either a first or second year. Stupid little idiots. Why couldn’t they leave her alone? Of course, had she properly surveyed this person, she wouldn’t have been so dismissive or offensive. However, at the moment, she was more concerned with her essay. She hadn’t done very much, it was true, but she’d done a decent amount since she last put quill to parchment. And now some stupid second year had decided to stop her from getting anywhere near finished. Pulling the ink-stained piece from the others, which were relatively dry, she placed it on a nearby empty table, hoping that she would be able to rescue it from a severe fate. If she removed the majority, some of the words would be recognisable, right? All of the way through, she found satisfaction in listing what was wrong with small second year boys. It didn’t occur to her, during this time, to actually look at the person to see whether they were even the people she was cursing. Flicking her blonde hair over her shoulder, she took a small band and tied it up, hoping to somehow make everything better with that one simple movement. Unsurprisingly, nothing much changed. When she calmed down a little, she turned around to face the table again and used her wand, muttering a small incantation, which siphoned the worse of the ink away. Throwing the old inkbottle away, she reached into her bag and retrieved another small bottle of ink and a cleansing wipe, which she used to wash away the small amount that had reached her left hand. Once finished with this routine, she dropped the quill on the table and looked up at the person whom had just spoken. The minute her company had spoken, she knew she had made a mistake. Of course she knew whom that voice belonged to. And it wasn’t the voice of any of the infuriating second year boys. Yet, it was still the voice of a second year. So, in a way, she was right also. Rolling her eyes somewhat, she turned her head to face her younger sister. “I hope you know that this is all your fault, Pandora.” Sighing, she managed to put on a softer tone as she reached for the next clean piece of parchment, whilst turning the next page of the textbook. “What do you want anyway? Pray tell why you felt the need to ruin my life at this particular moment in time.” ------------------------------------------------------- word count; 555 tagged; pandora celyn malfoy outfit; here. notes; n/a[/blockquote][/blockquote]

PandoraCelynMalfoyI don't know what I want So don't ask me Don't know what's down this road I'm just walking Trying to see through the rain coming down ---------------- Rolling her blue eyes at her sister the second year watched as Jaslene tried to clean up the ink spill. Pandora knew if she tried to help she would probably just knock something over and Jaslene would be even madder. "Yeah I figured it would be my fault. Or we could blame you for being too jumpy. I just said hi." She smiled innocently and sweetly up at her older sister then shrugged and tapped her nails against her books.
"And I didn't choose to ruin your life. One: It was an accident, I didn't plan for that to happen. And two: a ruined essay isn't going to ruin your life. See you got most of the ink off with magic anyway." She pointed out indicating the essay that had been soaked with ink seconds before. "I just came here to work on my essay, I figured I'd say hi to you. Is that against the rules?" She asked rolling her eyes, something she did a lot. Glancing back at her essay, she knew that it wasn’t as bad as she had first thought. It was possible that it would be in an acceptable condition soon enough. But it wasn’t the state of the table, essay or whatever else that had annoyed her, rather than the fact that the ink spill had happened. It was frustrating enough, without knowing that she had been the main cause of all this further stress. And even though she would continue blame her younger sibling (what with her being an obvious and easy target for any form of abuse), she knew that it was mostly her own fault. If she hadn’t resorted to jumping about thirty inches across the room without warning, none of the following events would have happened either. Pushing these thoughts aside instantly, deeming herself to be totally irresponsible for any of the actions that had occurred just minutes before, she turned her attention back towards the other person in close proximity. Or, as she had evidently decided, the person responsible for her current unsavoury situation.
Nodding, she removed the second piece of parchment, which had become stuck to the table; somehow at the time of the ink spill, she attempted to keep her frustration undercover. It would not be acceptable to lose her head in the midst of the school library. “Well, yes, of course it’s your fault,”
she agreed, without much sign of hesitation or conscience for blaming her own sister. Sisters were allowed to blame each other, fighting was something they were known for. “Did you really need to be so loud? Especially when I was trying to concentrate.” She raised an eyebrow, with her attention fully on her sibling for a few seconds, as though daring her to disagree with this statement. “Besides, I am not jumpy.” Collecting the remaining scattered pieces of parchment up into her hands, she placed them also on the table behind her, with the sad-looking essay. Returning the roll of her own darker eyes, she faced her sister once again, placing the quill upon the desk. “It was an exaggeration, Dora.” She sighed, as though her sister’s stupidity was contributing to her overall mood. “And a ruined essay could be the essential component to my life. How would you know? You’re only a second year.” It was an old statement, that particular one. Jaslene often referred to how young her sister was, and how much difference there was in their ages to win an argument, or dispute. Of course, Pandora might be several years younger than her, but she wasn’t unintelligent, and she wasn’t two years old, she was bound to know and understand a significant amount. But when it came to matters like this, it seemed to be a favourite point for the Slytherin girl to bring up. “Oh?” she responded, a small amount of curiosity reaching the tone of her voice, “And what essay might that be?" ------------------------------------------------------- word count; 490 tagged; pandora celyn malfoy outfit; here. notes; n/a[/blockquote][/blockquote]

PandoraCelynMalfoyI don't know what I want So don't ask me Don't know what's down this road I'm just walking Trying to see through the rain coming down ---------------- The second year leaned back in her chair and picked up her wand, she wondered what would happen if she tried a spell on Jaslene and decided it probably wouldn't end well. Pandora may have inherited their mother's brains but she was still four years younger than her sister, something Jaslene never let her forget. So she put her wand back down on her pile of books and clasped her hands together, watching her sister with large blue eyes.
"I wasn't that loud," She muttered to herself, listening to her sister give all the reasons why it was her fault. Of course Jaslene knew it was actually her own fault, but there was no way she was going to admit that, a Malfoy would never admit they were wrong, they would blame whoever was nearby, even if it was their little sister. "All I did was say hi." She repeated as if it were a crucial piece of evidence in a murder trial.
She listened to the sixth year quietly, until she called her Dora. That was something no one called her. She had to stop herself from leaping to her feet and grabbing her wand, knowing it would be pointless. Instead she narrowed her eyes so they were mere slits and said, "Don't. Call. Me. Dora." She got to her feet and glared at her sister, then finally deciding that cursing her sister wouldn't be a good idea she sat back in her chair, her eyes still narrowed in annoyance. "And my essay is about the effects that unicorn hair has on potions, my favourite." She added sarcastically, potions was her least favourite f her subjects, the only one she wasn't good at, and it was humiliating. Here she was the daughter of Hermione Malfoy, and she had no idea how to make the simplest potion in the book. [/blockquote] ---------------- Status: finished! Choosing to ignore most of what her sister was muttering, or whatever weird actions she was currently undertaking, she instead faced the clean sheet of parchment. Pausing for a few seconds, she picked up the worn quill and started to write. She didn’t see the point in attempting to finish the other one, at least for a while, and had no intention whatsoever of writing it all out again. Even if she had only managed two paragraphs. There was nothing to prove that those two paragraphs hadn’t been the best she’d ever written. So, from that perspective, she wasn’t going to write it out on a new piece. She had neither the time nor the motivation to do so. Besides, her sister had been right. She had managed to dry most of the spillage, leaving only a few small smudges remaining. It was probably nowhere near as bad as she had first thought.
“Well, there’s evidently a lesson to be learned here, dear. Mainly, do not interrupt people while they’re trying to work.”
She chose to disregard her sister’s protests. She didn’t really care how loud the younger girl had been. In her terms, anything that caused that amount of trouble could only be too loud. “Yes, I’ve got it,” she replied, a small amount of stress creeping into her voice. “You only said hi. I think we all got it the first time you said it. We can move on now.” She didn’t care what her sister’s reasons were. The only thing that really mattered was the condition of her surroundings, something that had been under threat at the moment Pandora had walked into the room. Nothing would change what had happened, Pandora’s excuses were just irrelevant. If she wanted reasons and explanations as to how and why it had happened, she would have happily done it herself. The reasons behind the mechanisms, which had caused all her work to be ruined, did not interest or please her. Still scribbling words across the page, the silence fell between the two. She didn’t feel the need to say anything else. She was more than fine with a few more minutes of silence. Flicking through the relevant sections in the old textbook, she stopped occasionally in order to read through some useful information. It took a few minutes, but she was starting to make a decent amount of progress yet again, although on a different topic. Slowly, neat lines of Jaslene’s black handwriting filled a sizeable proportion of the first sheet. Shuffling the parchment, she heard her sister speak again. So much for peace. “Alright. Don’t. Overreact” she replied, using the same tone as her sister, rolling her eyes towards the ceiling. It was only when Pandora spoke once more that her attention was drawn from the parchment to the books the other girl was holding. “Potions?” she repeated. " "Hmm, I like potions,” she started thoughtfully. “Still, shame you don’t have anyone to help you with that.” As the last words came out of her mouth, she couldn’t help but smirk. Ah, life was sweet indeed sometimes. PandoraCelynMalfoyI don't know what I want So don't ask me Don't know what's down this road I'm just walking Trying to see through the rain coming down ---------------- The small girl crossed her arms in frustration and glared at her sister with bright blue eyes. She then sighed and looked down at her hands clenched in her lap. Realizing her sister was going to mostly ignore her she opened her transfiguration textbook and flipped to the correct page. She pulled a piece of paper towards her and opened her inkwell and grabbed a quill. She dipped the tip of the quill in ink and wrote her title at the top of the paper in loopy writing. She then leaned back, sanned her textbook, and began working on her paper.
"I'm sorry for trying to be conversational," She said quietly, continuing to scratch away at her paper. She paused for a minute to quickly reference her book before continuing. Transfiguration was easy, it was the potions essay that would take her forever. When Jaslene mentioned potions she put her quill down, looked away from her textbook and looked up at her sister. She smiled an angelic smile and said, "Yes too bad there's no one good at potions here isn't it, then I could ask them." Her eyes were wide and innocent but she knew that would make Jaslene mad. Her sister was proud of being good in potions, and Pandora knew it.

The elder of the two siblings couldn’t prevent herself from looking up once more, wanting a small distraction from her many scribbled lines of handwriting, which were starting to be seen almost everywhere else. When she glanced up, she was amused to see the rather disgruntled expression of her younger sister. Grinning, she turned her eyes towards the yellowing piece of parchment and frowned. What was she writing about? In those few seconds, her thoughts seemed to have left her. Re-reading the last sentence she had written, in an attempt to remember, she continued to do this until she saw the younger girl start to write. Her curiosity arising once more, her eyes flickered over her sister’s work. Finding the subject of Transfiguration a lot more interesting than her essay concerning the rights of seventeenth century goblins, she continued to read the other passage instead. Who cared about the rights of goblins anyway, regardless of century? Seriously, did the History of Magic professor find some spectacular way of choosing the most dull and uninteresting topics available? It was starting to seem as though this happened.
Surely this couldn’t be true? Yet, as she returned once again to what she had already written, she was slowly losing the will to live. Pausing every so often, she made some more progress, a few more paragraphs forming as she continued to write. Having just written some random statements about her favourite of the group of subjects, she sighed inwardly. A few more lines later, her wrist was beginning to ache. What a lovely addition to such a day. As if History of Magic wasn’t bad enough already. Rolling her eyes towards the ceiling, she dropped the quill on the surface of the table and rubbed her arm. The ache persisted, she noticed, frustrated. Her attention drawn by the essay across the table, she looked up at the second year again. “I don’t mind normal conversation,”
she replied to Pandora’s statement. “But sudden conversation without warning? Not so much.” Giving her sister a small smile, she stretched, having been sat in the same position for a considerable amount of time. Hearing that smug remark from her sister was slightly unusual. “Oh, aren’t you clever, Pandora Malfoy?” she replied, a small bout of sarcasm in her voice. “So clever that I’m sure, with a little bit of effort, you could easily manage a Potions essay.” Glancing at her textbook again, she turned a few pages, barely reading what was written upon the previous pages. “Of course if you were to retract your clever statement, I’m sure I could find someone who would help. Seeing as she’s unlikely to get a moment’s peace until you do.” She laughed, twisting her head around, whilst pushing the clear sheets of parchment to the edge of the table, to examine the state of her earlier papers. It was looking much better, she had to admit. But who knew how bad it could have been? It was still an incident that could easily have been avoided, if people didn’t creep up on her at such vital moments. And with the rate she was going, she might actually manage to finish this essay by the end of the day as well. Wonders would never cease. PandoraCelynMalfoyI don't know what I want So don't ask me Don't know what's down this road I'm just walking Trying to see through the rain coming down ---------------- Pandora looked up from her Transfiguration paper and looked over at her sister's. It was something boring about goblins, most likely history of magic. She looked up at her sister, "I know I'm smart, I'm the one who got mom's brains." She smiled her innocent little smile at her sister. "I'm just kidding sis," She said laughing a little. "We both got mom's brains, and yet we both look more like dad," She paused, shrugged and went back to her transfiguration essay.
She quickly finished that and then pulled her potions textbook towards her. She got out a fresh piece of parchment and all of a sudden her mind went blank. Potions was her least favourite and worst subject. "Okay Jas I'm sorry. You're the best at potions out of all the kids I know, when you have a chance would you mind just lending me a hand?" She smiled sweetly, hoping that her sister loved her enough to forgive her. [/blockquote] ---------------- Status: finished!
