* ALEXANDER ( CORMAC ) MCLAGGEN ,
Alex quickly ran into the Great Hall so that he would have enough time to eat before he had to head off to class. He had been talking to some Hufflepuff girl in the Entrance Hall for the past fifteen minutes or so and wasn’t sure how much time he had left before breakfast would be over. Alex had rolled out of bed quite late this morning as well. He was wearing a pair of jeans, a tight black t-shirt, and a pair of trainers with his Ravenclaw robe thrown sloppily over the entire ensemble. His hair was a mess as well but it could easily be argued that that particular flaw in the seventh year’s appearance was due to the fact that Alex kept running his hands through it.
As Alex burst through the doors he saw that the majority of the student body was already there and well into their meals. Alex slid into his regular seat where he sat for pretty much every meal and began to pile his plate high with sausage and eggs. The more protein the better. That was the mantra upon which Alex based his diet. Since about age thirteen or fourteen Alex’s primary goal was to build up his muscle mass and he had been very successful in his endeavor. Last year alone Alex had managed to put on about ten to fifteen pounds of pure muscle. Sadly, it had only inflated his ego that much more.
The hall was very busy and loud, as per usual. Alex took to his favorite morning activity and looked around at all the people. He particularly enjoyed examining the appearances of the girls in the school, as well as the female professors. Many a time Alex had been told off for checking out Headmistress Malfoy. But really no one could blame him, or at least that was Alex’s opinion. The woman was bloody gorgeous. Alex’s mum had told him that his father used to have a thing for Hermione Malfoy back when he was in school and the thought of it always made Alex laugh.

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - -Jordon half ran down the great staircase, his shoes squeaking on the floor. He hurried past a group of first years and into the great hall. It was full of students talking, eating and generally fooling around. He walked over to the Ravenclaw table and spotted Alex sitting in their usual spot eating, of course. The seventh year sat down next to his best friend. He piled some bacon and eggs onto his plate and looked over at his friend. "I can see that I'm not the only one who was in a rush this morning, " he said. He too had just thrown on his robes over some jeans and a t-shirt. He hadn't even bothered to put his tie on properly. His hair was a mess as well, but Jordon's hair was always like that.
"Hey Alex, there are other things in the world than pretty girls," He said taking a bite of his breakfast. He figured that his friend was checking out someone, Alex always was. Jordon looked over to where Alex was looking and then turned back to his friend, "Seriously Alex? Professor Malfoy? She's kind of our headmistress, and in case the fact that she has two kids isn't enough to let you know she's married let me remind you. She's married"

* ALEXANDER ( CORMAC ) MCLAGGEN ,
Alex laughed at the disheveled appearance of his best friend as he sat down beside him at the Ravenclaw table. For some reason it seemed as though every year they began to care less and less about how they looked for class. Alex could still remember the first day of classes his very first year at Hogwarts. He had worn an entire uniform under his properly buttoned robe. About half way through his first lesson, however, Alex had ripped off his tie claiming that it was too tight and itchy. He hadn’t worn one since that day. Some of the professors were still slightly bothered by it but most had learned that it was no use to argue with Alex McLaggen, as he never gave up an argument.
As Alex was enjoying the view, Jordan interrupted his thoughts with his own words. Alex just rolled his eyes and smirked. “There may be more things to life than pretty girls Jordan, but why bother with them?” Alex asked, somewhat serious. Alex’s laughter intensified as his friend told him off for ogling their headmistress. To be completely honest, Alex didn’t care the least bit whether or not she was married with children. In fact, Jaslene Malfoy was, and had been since day one, number one on his list. She was the headmistress’s daughter, and therefore off limits, which only increased her appeal. “I’m very aware that she has children Jordan.” Alex informed his friend as he allowed his eyes to drift off towards the Slytherin table in search of a certain blonde. “And do you honestly think I care that she’s our headmistress or that she’s married? It doesn’t hurt to look. In fact, it’s rather enjoyable. You ought to try it sometime.” Alex continued before changing the subject to one much less entertaining. “What’s our first class today?” Alex asked Jordan. Of course it was a stupid question as they were half way through the year by now but Alex never really cared all that much about his classes. What was important was that he went to them and got through school so that he could play Quidditch. tagged , jordan edward carsonwords , three hundred and fifty sevenlyrics , run this town - jay-zcredit , rora @ hos

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - -Jordon poured himself some coffee and drank some as he waited for his friend to reply. He put the mug down and then fixed his tie. "Ok here's a reason why we might,"
He said looking at his friend, "It's something called, the real world. And in that world if we don't pass of N.E.W.T.S we can't do anything with our lives." He took another drink of coffee. "But I'm sure you have a plan on how to pass them with minimal effort." He watched as Alex's eyes went from the staff table to the Slytherin table. "Yes Jaslene Malfoy. Not very smart of you, if Professor Malfoy finds out you're dead, if Jaslene's father finds out you'd wish you were dead." He laughed at the thought. There was some rustling as the morning mail arrived. An owl swooped down and dropped a copy of The Daily Prophet in front of him. The owl hooted and landed next to him. Jordon put some money it the pouch around it's leg and the owl took off. Picking up the paper, scanning the front page for anything interesting Jordon spoke again, "I do look at pretty girls, but I also have better things to do with my time." He pointed out, "Like Quidditch. And we have charms first." He added flipping the paper open. [/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS ?! don't know TAGGED ?! alex cormac mclaggen OUTFIT ?! his robes LYRICS ?! endlessly by muse BANNER ?! me TEMPLATE ?! * ALEXANDER ( CORMAC ) MCLAGGEN ,
Alex looked at Jordan with a look of feigned confusion on his face. “What is this ‘real world’ you speak of? It sounds quite boring.” Alex took a sip of his pumpkin juice and rolled his eyes. “Seriously though, how many NEWTS do I really need to become a Quidditch player? I know you want to be an auror and all so you need to do well in school, but I don’t. I just need Ravenclaw to win the cup this year. And hey, if we don’t, I’ll have Dad make a few calls.” Alex knew that it was morally wrong to have his father use his connections to get him a job but he honestly didn’t care all that much. And the small part of him that did care was probably the part that was joking. Alex had to chuckle at the mention of Jaslene’s father. “Malfoy wouldn’t dare do anything to me.” he said cockily. “And Hermione loves me of course. Why else would I constantly receive invitations to her office?” It seemed as though every month Alex visited the headmistress’s office at least once due to something he had said or done. He would then proceed to flirt with said headmistress and receive a detention. It was really all just a game to Alex, just like most other things. In fact, the only thing that Alex didn’t view as a game was the one thing that actually was considered a game by most people. Quidditch was Alex’s reason for living. He couldn’t see himself doing anything else once he left Hogwarts other than playing Quidditch. That’s why when Jordan mentioned Quidditch Alex’s thoughts immediately switched from females to sports. “That’s right! Quidditch is the most important thing. In fact, it’s even more important than Charms. I say we skive off class today and go down to the pitch. It’s not as if Lupin will miss me at all. In fact, quite the opposite. He’ll probably be so glad I’m not in class that he’ll throw a party or better yet, cancel class!” Alex processed enthusiastically. The sad thing was the truth behind the statement. Alex did nothing in Charms but cause problems, as was the case for most of his classes. His arrogance was the main issue but Alex refused to admit it. He found it rather humorous when adults compared him to his father. He liked to think he was better than his father. But then again, his father always did think that he was the best guy around. tagged , jordan edward carsonwords , four hundred and twenty threelyrics , run this town - jay-zcredit , rora @ hos

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - -Jordan was half reading the paper half listening to Alex. He spread the paper down in front of him and took a bite of bacon. Swallowing he said, "THe real world is boring Alex. That's why we have to do things to make it more interesting, like play Quidditch."
Jordon knew that Alex wanted to be a professional Quidditch player more than anything, and that his father could probably help with that. Jordon wanted to be an Auror, something his mother didn't know yet. She wanted him to be the next Minister for Magic. "And I'm pretty sure all of the Malfoy's would. Even Pandora would take a go at you if she could." He smiled at the thought of their headmistresses youngest daughter taking on Alex. It was a pretty funny picture. "And I'm sure she loves you very much Alex, that's why she gives you so much detention." He rolled his eyes and scanned the paper for something interesting to read about. "Yes Quiddtch is important, but I'm not sure it's important enough to skip charms for. Though you're probably right about the party." He joked not looking at his best friend. He had to admit, the idea of skiving of charms and practicing Quidditch was tempting, but he wasn't sure that facing Professor Malfoy when she found out was worth it.[/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS ?! 246 TAGGED ?! alex cormac mclaggen OUTFIT ?! his robes LYRICS ?! endlessly by muse BANNER ?! me TEMPLATE ?! * ALEXANDER ( CORMAC ) MCLAGGEN ,
Alex agreed whole heartedly with Jordan’s statement about the real world being boring. But then again, imagine if he were a muggle. Without magic the world would be even more boring. He wouldn’t even be able to play Quidditch. Alex supposed that if he were a muggle he would probably play football or something of that nature. He didn’t know too much about muggle sports other than the fact that they were played on the ground. Yet another way that the muggle world was even more boring than the magical one.
The idea of little Pandora Malfoy even attempting to take him on caused Alex to burst out in laughter. “I don’t need to worry about her.” Alex told Jordan. “I have a brother to take care of her. A Gryffindor at that. I’m sure if he has half the skill that I do he’ll have no problem convincing her to leave me alone.” Alex said with a smirk. “And you don’t know why Hermione gives me those detentions. It could be for reasons you would never even think.” Of course Hermione Malfoy would never do anything of the sort, but a guy can always dream. Alex shook his head at Jordan’s words. “That’s where we’re different Jordan. For my chosen career path, Quidditch is more important than Charms. In fact, performing any charms during a match is pretty much illegal. For you, however, a good grade on your N.E.W.T. is actually important to your future.” Alex spouted off this information as if he had done so fifty times before, which he really had. “Have you told your mum about the whole auror thing yet?” Alex asked, knowing that Jordan’s mother had a vision of him working in politics in the future as opposed to running around and chasing dark wizards for a living. tagged , jordan edward carsonwords , three hundred and fourlyrics , run this town - jay-zcredit , rora @ hos

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - -Jordan nodded at Alex's comment about Pandora. He was still amused by the thought of the second year trying to take on his friend. "I'm sure I can imagine why she would give you detentions,"
He said still not looking over at his friend. After being his friend since they were first years Jordon had got used to Alex's obnoxious behaviour, and he was one of the only people who didn't try to kill Alex on a regular basis, just once a week or so. "And yes that is where we're different, it's not that I want to go to charms, it's that I can't become an auror without it. That is where you get off easy," He finally looked up at Alex and rolled his eyes. "Sometimes it seems like you picked Quidditch just because it means you don't have to do well in school. Which is probably true." He looked back down at the paper. When Alex asked if he had told his mom he sighed, "No I haven't. She still wants me to be the next minister for magic. She's so determined for it I don't know how to tell her. For her chasing dark wizards is far from doing well in the world." He looked away from the paper and at the wall across the room. "For her if people don't know your name, if your picture isn't in the paper every other day you haven't made it. My mom has big dreams for me and I'm trying to figure out how to tell her I don't share them." He looked back down at the paper, ever since his fourth year he had wanted to be an auror, and he still hadn't had the heart to burst his mother's bubble and tell her.[/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS ?! * ALEXANDER ( CORMAC ) MCLAGGEN ,
Alex smirked at his friend’s lack of a reaction to his inappropriate remark about his detentions. Anyone else would have slapped him or told him off. Not Jordan though. It seemed as though after six and a half years Jordan knew much better than that. Apparently he had learned that Alexander McLaggen was unaffected by other people’s opinions. Alex took a huge bite of his eggs and downed the remainder of his pumpkin juice as he listened to Jordan counter what he had said about their differences in character.
Alex thought for a moment. Why had he chosen Quidditch as a career? True it meant that school was no longer that important. But then again, it was also the most important thing in his life. Alex was rather smart in some subjects, like Charms for instance, but he chose not to apply his intelligence to the fullest extent. Alex was the sort of student who when told to right one roll of parchment on the Goblin Rebellions wrote twice as large as the other students and spent half of his first draft discussing how the Goblin Rebellions had absolutely nothing to do with his chosen career path, therefore it was pointless for him to write an essay about them. Still, Alex felt the need to defend himself. “Hey! I’ll have you know that I’m going to play Quidditch because it’s what I was born to do. My parents played and now I’m going to play as well. Besides, it’s also the area in which I’m obviously the most skilled. Why put such amazing talent to waste?” It was obviously a hypothetical question, as Alex didn’t expect a serious answer to such a question. He had learned that long ago. A sigh escaped Alex’s lips when Jordan confessed that he still hadn’t spoken to his mother about his future career. “Mate, we’re graduating in what, half a year now? You’ve gotta tell her sooner or later. Who cares about the howler you’re gonna get - just throw it in the lake.” Alex couldn’t help but shudder at the mention of the Black Lake. A few times a year he would have a horrible dream in which he was drowning in the lake and was suddenly swallowed by the giant squid. Then he would wake up screaming and pray that he hadn’t woken any of his roommates. “And besides, no one’s going to become the Minister of Magic at eighteen. Wasn’t Shacklebolt an auror too?” Alex asked Jordan. tagged , jordan edward carsonwords , four hundred and twenty sevenlyrics , run this town - jay-zcredit , rora @ hos

• THIS PART OF ME • YOU'LL NEVER KNOW THIS PART OF ME I'LL NEVER SHOW - - - - - - - - - - - -Jordon drank the last dregs of coffee from his mug and took his last bite of bacon. Seeing nothing interesting in the paper he folded it up and put it aside. "Yeah I know Quidditch is your life,"
He smiled. "Your parents were big Gryffindor players weren't they? The first time Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup in however many years?" He smirked. Alex's whole family had been big Quidditch Players, his mother on the other wand worked with the Daily Prophet and his father was a muggle, astronomer. As Alex spoke about telling his mother he sighed, knowing his best friend was right. "Yeah," he said shrugging. "I will, I'll send Rowena with a letting tonight, after class." He smiled. Rowena was his barn owl, named after Ravenclaw's founder. "And dude, if I get a howler I will make you listen to it with me. Got it?" He smiled and slid off the bench, getting ready to go to class. "And also," He said now talking about what Alex had said about Kingsly Shacklebolt, "My mom has many things to say about aurors, most of them about their jobs being a waste since Voldemort was defeated." He rolled his eyes.
