It was pretty bright, and the sun just seemed to follow Shanice as in trying to annoy her. Lifting her hand in front of her face she looked up, bloody sun, you could either love it or hate it, today was defiantly the day to hate the sun. So pathetic actually, debating on whether the sun was a good or bad thing. Some people would protest that it was better than a windy day, but then again, it could be wrong. Shanice would prefer a windy day to a sunny one, at least that way you could actually see when your walking around the school grounds. It actually looked like she was lost, but that wasn't the case, she was actually rather bored, of course her Herbology homework wouldn't help either.
What was the best cure for boredom? Many things actually, in Shanice's world, partying, talking where the best, since it wasn't the time to party yet, along with the fact no one was around to talk too, she walked across the grass and watched as t bounced back up as she walked over it, helped her for a bit. She sat down with her back against the sun so he could see what was going on around her. Moving her hands behind her to support herself she looked at the side of the castle, seeing things thrown from the tower on to students, so pathetic, yet endlessly amusing for her. Especially since she was very bored, she would settle for anything right now, even if it was a Slytherin or an professor.

Sighing heavily, Victoria stood up from her seat in the common room. The first years had all come down from their dormitories and were making too much noise for her liking. After several attempts of trying to shut them up, Vicky left the common room behind and made her way down the Grand Staircase, crossing the Entrance Hall, and strolling out into the grounds. Quiet at last.
The only problem was, Vicky didn't want quiet. She wanted to just sit and talk to someone about random things, without the background noise of the immature younger students. Raising her hand to sheild her eyes from the sun, which was unfortunately facing her directly, she managed to make out a blond girl in a Hufflepuff uniform. A smile crossed Victoria's lips.
"Shanice!" She called out, waving with her other hand before walking over towards her and sitting down.

There was never anything to do in the afternoons, it was like dead at this time, people where either studying or being boring in the common rooms. Of course Shanice wasn't like that, she preferred to be loud or do something fun than just sit around. A small sigh escape from her lips. Then, she heard someone calling her name, and the voice sounded very familiar to her. She turned her head to see Vicky walk over and sit herself down next to her. Finally, someone to talk to!!
A smile broke onto Shanice's face. "Vicky!" She replied throwing her arms in the air, overexciting on the gesture. She fell onto her back and placed her hand over her eyes sitting up. "Where have you been my child?!" She exclaimed removing her hand from her eyes. "I've been ever so lonely without you to talk to." She added, this time not adding any weird voices or odd gestures hat could scare someone if they didn't know her well enough.

"It seems studying can even get me sitting away being a boring old cow." Victoria said with a smile, glad to see her friend once again. It had been far too long since they had last spoken; in fact, she couldn't remember speaking to her at all since the end of last year. "So, how was your summer?" She asked, absent mindedly looking up at Gryffindor Tower, convinced that she could still hear the racket they were making.
Vicky wasn't at all sure why she hadn't contacted Shanice over the holiday. Her owl had been at home the whole time, and she was pretty sure it knew where Shanice lived; she'd sent masses of letters the holiday before that. Come to think of it, her friend had probably thought she'd been abandoned.

A laugh escaped from Shanice's lips at Vickys comment, she hadn't heard a comment like that in such a long time, seriously. Shaking her head sh looked at her friend with a grin planted upon her face, "ah well, i'm normally the roster of life." How that fitted in to this, she didn't have a clue. She held her laughter for a moment, then she just cracked up for a moment. She took a huge breath before looking at Vicky, after she asked about her summer.
She blew her fringe out of her face and sighed. "Well, living with my younger siblings isn't much fun actually, especially because my parents see them as the perfect kids." She said rolling her eyes, hated being the oldest sometimes, but it had its perks!

"I know exactly what you mean." Vicky replied, remembering her own younger brothers. Chris wasn't as bad as Alex, who was only ten, but her mother still insisted that they could do nothing wrong. Victoria wouldn't have been at all surprised if they got praised for smashing up a vase. They could probably kill Vicky and get away with it.
"What subjects have you taken this year?" She asked, before correcting herself. "Will be taking, I mean." It got awfully confusing when it came to NEWTs, and it wasn't just the work that was difficult. With different subjects requiring different OWL grades, you never knew if you'd be able to take the subject you wanted to take, or what equipment to buy.

Half the time when she got in to a argument with her brother or sister, Shanice was considered in the wrong, all the time. If Shanice swore by accident she would get kicked to the kerb, if her sister said it, she would only get an 'don't do it again.' Everyone thought she was an angel, she wasn't. "Exactly, i hate younger siblings." She said answering Vicky's question.
Flicking her short hair back, she went into thinking. "Uh, Potions, Flying, Care of Magical Creatures." She said then sighed. "Unfortunately, i didn't do well in my OWLs for my Herbology, so they're making me do Herbology along side it." She hated it, she really hated that subject, yet she had to do it, this time well.

Vicky listed as Shanice told her the subjects she was taking. It seemed that they were taking quite similar subjects this year, with the only subject Vicky wasn't taking that Shanice was being Care of Magical Creatures. Victoria had never cared much for the subject; it was riskier than Defence Against the Dark Arts, though this was mostly due to her lack of listening to instructions. She definetely wouldn't be carrying on with it this year, the near loss of her nose in her third year had been enough.
"But you love Herbology!" She joked, knowing full well that her feelings towards the magical plants were quite the opposite. Vicky herself had only taken the subject to get free ingredients for Potions, as well as to get an idea of what exactly she was putting into the cauldron.

Her eyes widened at Vicky's joke, she must of found it hilarious to see her facial reaction to someone thinking she loved Herbology. Tilting her head to the side she snickered slightly shaking her head, side to side. "Oh yeah, totally you know i like a bit of herbology now and then!" She exclaimed a smug grin planted on her face as she looked away, seeing all the other kids walking about or sitting down on the grass.
Looking back at Vicky she began to speak again. "What you taking then, miss, fancy pants." She said raising a eyebrow, slightly laughing at her own joke, rather sad really to do that but at least she was funny, t herself mostly.

Vicky smiled, glad to be back with her friend after what had seemed a pretty long summer. When she asked what subjects she was taking that year, she was more than happy to reel off what she found was quite a long list. How she was going to cram all of the work in, she had no idea. "Arithmancy, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Flying, Herbology, Potions, Transfiguration." She replied, giving a smile at the end of her sentence.
Quite a few people in her year, as well as all of the other years, were surprised to find Victoria taking so many subjects, especially since she was more rebellious than academic. However, Vicky had her ambitions, and she was going to see herself get there, no matter what the cost. Of course, actual money would be something she'd have to think about, but she had plenty of effort left over from her last six years at Hogwarts.
