It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Brian noticed the sun cast it’s rays across the floor of the clock tower, and a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He shut his book, and glanced out through the glass at the green grass, stretched before him, so inviting. He pushed himself up off the floor, using the walls as leverage to get himself up, then headed for the exit of the clock tower. He took one last look at where he’d been sat, and the lighting was too perfect to leave without doing something first. He dove his hand into his bag and pulled out his camera. He held it steady, and snapped a shot of the rays of the sun, filtering through the glass and dispersing it’s original colours on the floor. His father had told him that the most beautiful of things was spontaneous and natural, not forced and posed, so he made a point of looking for the naturally occurring things, and they were usually the most beautiful of things for Brian.
Brian smiled blissfully as he made his way down the stairs and out into the entrance hall. He glimpsed the paintings on the walls as he walked, and nodded and smiled politely as some greeted him and wished him a good day. He reached the great entrance hall, and spied the hourglasses that kept track of house points. He noticed that Hufflepuff were behind again, and sighed. He didn’t really care much about the house points, but it was nice to win things, and to have the house cup for once would be brilliant. He pushed the doors open and stepped out into the fresh air, his grey cardigan, and jeans keeping his body warm. It wasn’t really cold anymore, it had been worse. But it was still cold, as winter had not yet left the air, and you could just feel the little bitterness of the cold left, not giving up yet.
Bri strode over to the lakeside, and perched himself below the giant tree, finding that the grass was not too damp there. He supposed that the tree’s roots had sucked up the water, leaving the grass dry and a nice place to sit. The tree also blocked him from the breeze, that was ruffling the grass in his sight. He smiled and picked a piece of the grass, and began to twirl it between his fingers. The day in itself was lovely, and Bri began to wish that he had someone to share the beauty of the day with. He loved the way that the light glittered on the water, the small waves, caused by something in the lake, reflected the light each time they rose and caught it. The day was a nice one for new friends.

victoria had two choices. build a bridge and get over it, or get even, though she wasn't completely sure that 'even' was the right word. of the two choices, she wasn't sure which one she wanted to go with. it all depended on whether or not she found somebody that could help her get even, and if not, she'd simply have to wallow in her misery for a while, and then she should be fine at the end of it. vicky didn't even know if she wanted to be fine, if she wanted to give it all up and carry on with her life. she knew that she wanted kaleb to be more than her friend, but he had gone with that stupid snyder. what did he see in him anyway!? kamil was one of those slytherins that thought they were so god damn perfect with their pure blood and respected fathers, who the child then tried to blame their behaviour on. 'my father would kill me if i wasn't like this.' 'i only did it to make him proud.' 'you don't know anything about me!' it was always the same thing, and she was growing annoyed of it. all they wanted was even more attention, and the only attention she'd give kamil snyder would be to slap his pathetic face and be done with it. or else hit a bludger at him, and next time she wouldn't be so kind as to hit it slightly off target. for now, she was in the grounds looking for her potions essay. professor moore would want it in pretty soon, as it was already overdue. she'd have sworn she'd left it in the gryffindor changing rooms when she'd tried to get some of it done before quidditch practice, but it wasn't there. with a sigh, vicky decided to give up looking and start again last night. she hadn't written all that much anyway. she glimpsed a boy sitting near the lake in the corner of her eye, and decided to go and talk to him. whether he'd appreciate it, she couldn't say, but her not being in slytherin would probably help a bit. plus, he was kind of cute, so perhaps he would be the bridge she needed? maybe he would be the one to help her get 'even'? victoria would feel bad for using him like that, but perhaps something could last between them? 'hah, you've not even spoken to him yet, why are you starting to come up with things like that?' she asked herself, before sitting down on the floor beside him. vicky followed his gaze to the lake, and realised why he was so fascinated by it. it was simply... beautiful. she didn't particularly want to interrupt his moment, but she couldn't just sit there and say nothing. so she gave him a smile.

It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Brian was lost in his thoughts, as he often was. He'd drift away a lot, and just stare into space, or at something beautiful. Right now, his eyes were resting on the water, so pretty and mesmerising. He'd once stared at a spot above someone's shoulder, there was nothing there, but the person was talking to him and he completely blanked. He wasn't even really looking, just thinking about random and pointless things. Although, random and pointless things were sometimes a lot more interesting and enjoyable to think about, after all, if it was something important, you'd not be as inventive or use your imagination to think about new ideas as much. He hated constricting thoughts, they were the most free thing about a person, and he was thankful for them being so free, and also so private. Although he did know of people able to read thoughts using occlumency, but to him that was like invasion of privacy, and he wouldn't like to use that power, or have it used on him in return.
The glinting sun on the water caused a new wave of fascination, and he smiled blissfully, not realising that he had company for a moment. But after a minute or two, he got the feeling that he was being watched, and his head snapped around. The human body was a curious thing, as it had the ability to tell, sometimes, that someone was watching you, and it had been correct this time too. Brian’s eyes met that of a girl, he had never met her before, but he’d seen her around a few times in Gryffindor robes, so he knew she was of a decent house at least. And he had to admit that she was really pretty! Her hair was wavy and brown, and her eyes were very beautiful. Bri had heard an argument once, that the eyes were the windows into the soul, well her soul had pretty windows! He smiled a friendly smile back at her. ”Hi. I’m Brian!” He said, a big grin on his face. Maybe this idea was a very good one![/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

the guy beside her seemed to be completely oblivious to the fact that she was sitting there. she recognised him to be a hufflepuff, having seen him around the castle a few times, and yellow was one of those colours that stood out quite a bit. then again, so did red, blue, and green, and it was rare that she rarely remembered somebody's house outside of their uniform. maybe that said something about him? he seemed like a pretty pleasant person to be around, which made her wonder if she had ever spoken to him before. she didn't recall having done so, but on several occasions somebody had started talking to her as if they were best friends and she had no idea who they were. on the other hand, perhaps she was just the kind of person that attracted psychos like some guys said they attracted trouble. that was irrelevant, she'd soon find out whether the two of them had already met, if he stopped daydreaming anyway. as if on cue, he suddenly realised that she was sitting there. after he had told her his name, which just so happened to be brian, she responded by telling him her name. "hey, i'm vicky." now that part of the conversation was over, she had no idea what would come next. it would probably be the same old 'how are you?', 'what have you been up to?', 'what subjects are you doing?', 'are you on the quidditch team?', and a string of completely random questions that you eventually got bored of answering and lied about having to finish off a piece of work. in this case, she wouldn't need to lie if it came to that, but she hoped that the conversation would go on a different path. to be honest, she couldn't really be bothered to write an essay for potions, especially when she could get some geeky little ravenclaw to beg her to let them do the essay for her.

It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Vicky, it's nice to meet you!" Bri said, a friendly smile on his face. She sure was pretty! Brian knew that after the introduction, there was the natural way that the conversation could go. It would be the boring and usual process of asking how each other was, what they took, how they were doing, and then one of them would probably make some excuse about having to go to the library and write a paper. That was how it usually went, and it got boring and tedious and very very awkward. So Brian decided to do something a little different to that, and fell back on his funny guy approach. "Hey, I went to a wedding the other day, the two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn’t much, but the reception was excellent! Sorry that was lame, but hey, just like a ten ton polar bear, it broke the ice!" Brian joked, grinning broadly. He'd had a knack for making people laugh, even if he was using ridiculously lame jokes! He hoped that she was the type of girl who could take a joke, because otherwise he'd just blown a great opportunity to get to know an amazing looking girl! And she looked like she had an awesome personality too, although Brian wasn't sure he'd want to be friends or whatever with anyone who couldn't laugh at the lame attempts at jokes, because they would live in silence, and that would be boring! Brian didn't want this conversation to be so tedious that she'd want to run away screaming at the end of it, so he was going to try his damnedest to keep this thing going with as much funny jokes, and random and interesting facts that he could remember. He racked his brain for any more random bits of information that he could tell her, trying to keep the flow of the conversation going. [/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"and you too." she replied with a gentle smile. there was a moment of silence, before brian began telling jokes. victoria had never really appreciated that kind of humour, being one of those people that only ever made people laugh with sarcastic comments that weren't originally intended to be amusing. however, he did manage to get a light chuckle out of her, which was more than she could say for a lot of people. for one, she felt that laughter and smiling was a sign of weakness, and she couldn't have that, she was a gryffindor after all. it was so easy to trust someone because they seemed friendly, but that was a mistake she had made too many times. to be honest, she was glad of that. it had made her think about the world around her, and had made her realise that in the real world she wouldn't necessarily be surrounded by friends. first of all, there were a hell of a lot of people, and she couldn't get along with everyone. secondly, there were muggles, which would never be able to understand the world that she had grown up in and lived in, and would probably fear her. vicky didn't want people to be scared of her. for now though, she'd let go of all of that. she would let herself be ignorant, she would let herself have fun, she would let herself be herself. he was just a hufflepuff, what was the worst he could do? unfortunately, she didn't know what she should say in response, and he'd probably think her a boring old cow if she didn't say something. so she started to rack her brain for one of the jokes her youngest brother had told her whilst she had ignored him. "i went into a shop and tried to buy a pack of helicopter-flavoured crisps. i was out of luck; they only had plane." so it was lame, but she was rubbish at telling the jokes that were actually funny. she much preferred written jokes; people didn't get offended if you didn't laugh out loud.

It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Brian laughed more as he heard her laugh. It was a pretty laugh, although most pretty girls had a pretty laugh. But then maybe that was just the pretty girls that he’d met. He’d met a few pretty guys with a pretty laugh too. Not that they would have loved the fact that he was calling them, or their laugh, pretty! Most men resented being called pretty. Cute they would bear, hot was their favourite. But no guys relished in the idea that people were going around and calling them pretty. He liked mystery more than prettiness in men, although pretty girls were awesome. Although Brian based more on personality than on looks anyway. He laughed even more at her joke, it was lame, sure. But it was an attempt, and sometimes lame jokes were the best as you could laugh at their lameness.
Brian straightened up his face so he looked quite serious. ”So did you buy the plane crisps after?” He asked, as if it was a serious question. He paused and split his face into a grin before laughing again. ”I joke I joke. Although Helicopter are my favourite flavour too” He joked again randomly, keeping this conversation going as best as he could, as he didn’t want this opportunity to get to know Vicky, as she seemed like a really awesome girl.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

victoria really liked this guy. he was funny, even if a very lame sort of way, and he was cute too. brian seemed like someone who would be really easy to get a long with, and the kind of person that wouldn't just ditch you to go and hang out with some other friend of theirs. the prospect of doing so made her think about something she had done in the past, and she'd make a written note of it once she got back to the common room. an apology was in order, and brian had randomly inspired her to go and make it. that was something she'd worry about later. right now, she was here with brian, and she really wanted to make their meeting worthwhile. perhaps something would develop between them, whether that be a strong friendship or something a little more. 'you're making yourself sound like a whore again.' she thought. "nah, i decided to be safe and go with salt and vinegar." vicky replied with a smile. he was soon back on the subject of helicopter flavoured crisps, which brought out another slight laugh. "i do wonder what actual helicopter flavoured crisps would taste like though." to be honest, she had never thought such a thing in her life. if she had done, she'd have known straight away that it would have been metallic and disgusting. that wasn't the point. brian was trying to keep the conversation going, that was obvious to her, and she'd do her best to help him with that.

It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Brian wondered what it was like, to be charming and popular and so good looking that everyone who had the confidence to talked to you. He wasn’t that type of guy, at all. Brian was the funny, a little bit charming, goofy, and okay looking guy that liked a huge laugh. That was who Bri was, and he was happy with it! He just couldn’t imagine life being any different, and he wondered how different it would be if he was Mr. hot and charming and popular. Look, if that was even his name he’d have a middle name! Mr Hot Charming Popular. Charming Popular could have probably gotten away with being a name, as popular was a last name for someone, and Charming was a decent enough name. Okay he’d not like to be named Charming Popular because people would say that he was pretentious and then no one would talk to him. And then he couldn’t call himself popular because it would be to ironic! But as it stood, he was funny, slightly charming and goofy, and a pretty girl with an awesome personality was talking to him, and that was good enough for Brian!
He chuckled when she'd said 'salt and vinegar', and it was a coincidence that she'd chosen that particular flavour, out of all the one's that she could have chosen. "Well it is better to be safe than sorry! And what a coincidence, Salt and Vinegar happen to be my favourite flavour! What's yours?" Bri asked, wondering what sort of crisps that she liked. he wanted to get to know about Vicky, from her favourite flavour crisps, to what she looks for in a guy. Okay, so he was slightly hoping that she looked for someone like him, as he did have a tinsy crush on her, but she was pretty with a great personality, who wouldn't? Brian smiled at what she said, glad that she too was trying to keep the convorsation going, as no one wanted helicopter flavour crisps really, did they? They would be metallic and disgusting, but the point was that they both wanted the conversation to continue, which meant that she must have liked his company to want to stay there with him! whether brian had figured out that salt and vinegar was her favourite flavour by the fact that it had been the one she had mentioned out of all of the other flavours that were available, and was trying to find something they had in common, or if salt and vinegar genuinely was his favourite flavour. would he think the same of her when she told him that it was her favourite crisps flavour? what was strange about the whole thing was that she was putting this much thought into crisps. "salt and vinegar." she replied, though she could tell where this was going to go. it was the decent guys that quizzed girls about their random favourites and opinions on things, and the ones that weren't so decent were the ones that asked about their previous relationships and sex lives. brian belonged to the first group, or at least more so than the second one. "since you're not doing anything later, you might as well come to the three broomsticks with me." she half-told, half-asked him. it had actually been rather rude of her to say that he wasn't doing anything, because she didn't know this guy all that much, let alone the kind of things he did towards the end of the day.

It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Brian realised that if she had mentioned that out of all other flavours then that was obviously her favourite flavour. So he had asked a completely pointless and stupid question. His thoughts were confirmed when she'd answered with Salt and vinegar. "Well now we've got another thing in common!"
He said with a smile, realising that they had quite alot in common if you thought about it! For instance, they went to the same school, were from the same country. At least were probably from the same country! They were both magical, and that wasn't talking about their personalities. Although they had great ones. Or at least he thought that he had a pretty good one as far as personalities were concerned, and she had a pretty awesome one from what he knew about it and her! Brian grinned broadly when she half-stated, half-asked if he wanted to go to the three broomsticks with her later. "Let me check my diary. Yep, totally and completely free! But I'm not a complete loser or loner, I swear." He added on jokingly, as he didn't want to think he was shunned by society or something because of his lack of social events in his diary. He didn't even have a diary! But he'd only forget to write stuff in it if he did. Or he'd lose it, or put it somewhere safe. And safe was so safe that even he couldn't find it! That was what his mom always used to do, and what she used to say, and he' d picked that up from her, he supposed! ”I would love to go out with you! To the three broomsticks, I mean, erm, yeah” He finished, laughing slightly. Well that was great! He totally didn’t look like a nerd! Sarcasm filled his thoughts with those words. victoria was really enjoying being in brian's company. the atmosphere wasn't at all tense, and though conversation was only just starting to pick up a bit, he was very easy to talk to. he would certainly be one of the people that she would keep in touch with after she left hogwarts, though he'd still be there for a year after her finishing. within that time, she could start laying down the bricks to build a life of her own, and perhaps he would throw in a few of his own once he was out of school. "why would you be a loser? i can't see why anyone wouldn't want to hang around with you. except a slytherin perhaps, but nothing personal. they seem to hate everyone," vicky replied, having completely forgotten about kaleb at this precise moment in time. to be fair, the slytherins now weren't as bad as the house was said to be, or as malicious and down right evil as past slytherins had been. that was a conclusion she would keep to herself however. "then we'll call it a date and i'll see you a little later," vicky said, after calming the slight blush that he had brought to her cheeks.

It's so good like this, these are time's we'll miss, the memories I HOPE THEY'LL NEVER FADE ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Brian smiled happily, content in both the atmosphere and the company. The atmosphere wasn't tense at all between them, and it seemed that they both got on really well! Both of them had tried their best to keep convorsation flowing, and it seemed that they had a few things in common! For example, their favourite crisp flavour, and the both liked to hang out in the three broomsticks. Okay so alot of people went to the three broomsticks, it was a popular place, especially for students at Hogwarts. Bri had spent alot of his free time entertaining randomers in the bar, and it was just such a nice place! Ahh, the loser thing. Great.
"Thank you! And yeah they can be pretty prejudiced.Okay some people aren't to bad. I reckon you should know anyway, if you don't already" Bri said, taking a breath. "I'm, erm, bisexual. And some people still don't agree with it. It's a little awkward sometimes. But alot of the people I hang with don't really care." He said with a shrug, just half hoping that she didn't mind. Bri blushed a little and felt a little stupid that he didn't watch his mouth. "Date it is then! And I can't wait!" Bri said, losing a little colour from his cheeks, thankfully! He was sort of mentally planning what he was going to wear! Skinny's, a white shirt, and some nice Converse to liven up the outfit! He seriously couldn't wait![/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
