I WANT TO HAVE THE SAME LAST DREAM AGAIN + + ++ + + THE ONE WHERE I WAKE UP AND I'M ALIVE The Adventure This was it! This was going to be Adventure Number One! She had researched the topic just like she would with any other school project, and it had brought her here. To a giant still-life portrait of a fruit bowl. She stood before it, exhilarated.
What did she do now? All she knew that this was the entrance. No one told her what she had to do... AJ pulled her wand out and tapped the painting, clearing her throat. "Alohomora!"
There was no click, no door swinging open. So it wasn't locked...? She tried pushing on the painting, but it didn't budge. How irritating! She couldn't come all this way only to fail! She could feel her adventure slowly crumbling, the bitter taste of failure coating her tongue. AJ hated defeat, and right now she hated herself. She was giving up!
No! She thought furiously to herself. An Abercrombie never gave up! Annabelle Jameson had been raised to be strong, and to be smart. She was not going to be bested so easily.
In her moment of resolve, she noticed one of the fruits in the oil painting wiggle. Her brows pulled together as she studied it more thoroughly. It didn't move again, but she could have sworn it did. Actually, it was strange that the entire picture was still, even if the objects in it were inanimate objects. AJ was more accustomed to wizarding pictures and paintings - the ones that moved rather than the stationary images Muggles were associated with. The peculiarity drew her closer to the bowl, and she examined the fat, unmoving pear.
Something was... off. And she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
tags + anyone! wardrobe + see photo, plus Gryffindor cloak lyrics + The Adventure by Angles And Airwaves notes + anyone up for tickling the pear?

YOU CAN FEEL THE POUNDING WRAPPED AROUND YOUR CHESTJASLENEMALFOY NOTHING'S TOO EXCESSIVE WHEN YOU'VE GOT NOTHING LEFT The good thing about it being winter was that the season would soon be over. Then she wouldn’t have to pretend to tolerate or like it for another twelve months. The other good thing was that it was ultimately much easier to predict the whereabouts of different groups of students. If questioned right now, she would probably be able to name where almost any sixth year was likely to be (with a very small chance indeed of being incorrect). To a certain extent, she was able to do this with the majority of seventh years and first years. It was the other three that were harder to place. Not that she particularly put much thought or care into knowing these peoples’ whereabouts. Such trivial knowledge wasn’t something she had ever been concerned with. It was usually helpful to know where certain individuals would be, so she was perfectly capable of finding whomever she desired the company of. It didn’t really matter to her whether they might want her company. She figured most of them should be grateful anyway.
Walking down the middle of the narrow castle corridors, she managed to receive a mixture of looks and expressions in her direction. Most due to the fact that she was attempting to irritate people by not choosing to walk on one side or other, of course. It was much more fun to walk where she pleased. Even as several of the smaller students started to make muffled protests, she chose to ignore them, walking past with her head held high. There was one thing to be said for the eldest daughter of Draco and Hermione Malfoy – she did have excellent posture. As she stepped through the next corridor, she managed to somehow trip over an invisible object, which caused her to fall. Thankfully, there were very few people, if any, present to witness this mishap. Or so she had originally thought. If one was truthful, her fall would probably been caused either by her choice of footwear or her ridiculous way of walking. She wouldn’t admit it though. And seeing as there seemed to be nobody she knew nearby to remind her of this incident or spread the story throughout the school, she wasn’t all too worried.
Standing up, she adjusted her left shoe, wincing slightly from the pain of hitting her leg on the last step. Swearing under her breath, she glanced upwards, only to find that there was somebody else standing just ahead of her. And being the lucky girl that she was, it just happened to be someone she recognised. Choosing not to speak or mention the previous accident she had befell, she pouted, watching the girl’s strange behaviour. She noted, that with the other being so intent on some individual purpose, that she probably hadn’t even seen the Slytherin embarrass herself. Although with the commotion she had just made, Jaslene wouldn’t have been all that surprised if someone from three floors above them had heard her fall. Usually, once having seen someone that she knew, she would have immediately approached them and made some kind of cold comment. However, bearing in mind recent events, she took a few moments to consider, before pushing all sense aside and acting upon her nature. “Please tell me that you’re not actually being serious when you appear to be clueless as to how to open the door to the kitchens, Abercrombie.” A small grin played upon her lips, “Personally, I’d be ashamed if that was genuine bemusement.”

I WANT TO HAVE THE SAME LAST DREAM AGAIN + + ++ + + THE ONE WHERE I WAKE UP AND I'M ALIVE A noise to her left made her jump, so concentrated on the task at hand, she'd become oblivious to her surroundings. AJ's head snapped in that direction, and saw Jaslene Malfoy picking herself off the top step. She quickly turned her attention back to the still-life portrait, to be polite. Everyone knew of Jaslene's pride - she didn't want to injure it by noticing her fall. Everyone had been there before, AJ included, and no one liked to be made fun of for their flaws.
Apparently Jaslene didn't get the memo.
"Genuine bemusement?" AJ was generally a nice girl. But she would strike back if someone deliberately intended to hurt her. "Of course I'm bemused. Who would have thought it possible that Jaslene Malfoy could fall flat on her face? Your being ashamed has nothing to do with the look on my face!"
Wow, that was rather witty, wasn't it? She'd have to remember those words; she couldn't wait to write them in her diary. Who would have thought her little adventure today would produce this sort of confrontation?! AJ was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet, truly invigorated at the thought of a good, verbal sparring match. And with a mini-celebrity! Her triumphant smirk morphed into something much more exciting.
She loosened her cloak, the better to move about. Her eyes had a youthful spark to them, advertising just how alert Jaslene's presence had made her. Her body was turned to the girl, giving her the full attention she'd once intended to hide. Let the Slytherin's embarrassment be on display to everyone, who cared? Maybe if she'd been more helpful and less scathing, she'd be spared the gloating AJ was more than eager to deliver.

YOU CAN FEEL THE POUNDING WRAPPED AROUND YOUR CHESTJASLENEMALFOY NOTHING'S TOO EXCESSIVE WHEN YOU'VE GOT NOTHING LEFT Unbeknownst to Jaslene, falling down the steps outside of a Hogwarts corridor actually hurt quite a bit. Unfortunately, she now had first-hand experience of the act and the pain that followed. As she stood up, brushing herself free of castle dust, it still managed to make her unwillingly flinch. She didn’t like this. It was more the fact that she couldn’t compose herself, rather than the actual pain though. She couldn’t believe she’d made a mistake in public. That was to say, whilst someone else was around to witness it. And knowing the girl, and their past interactions, this could not be good. She clicked her tongue in irritation as the other girl placed an expression, which was only too familiar onto her face. Biting her tongue to keep her from yelling (as this would bring nothing but trouble), she glared at her company, whom was evidently deeply enjoying this moment. Let her laugh. She’d make sure the girl regretted it soon enough. Nobody laughed at Jaslene Malfoy. She looked at the girl, with a plain look of disdain. “I don’t recall any such incident”
she stated, with a perfect sense of nonchalance. “Really Abercrombie, I know you have some sort of problem with me, but making up lies?” Obviously the girl still thought she was being smart. An unwise move, for someone who prided himself or herself on intelligence. They didn’t know when to stop with the ‘clever’ routine. Unlike some people, the Slytherin girl had a very low level of tolerance for people who played this kind of behaviour before her. To be blunt, that kind of behaviour pissed her off in a big way. It was mostly because these kids also pretended that they were in some way above her, in manner, importance, intelligence, whatever. And people who acted better than her also really annoyed her. Because this blatantly wasn’t true either. It didn’t matter to Jas what the girl said to her in this situation. She could rise above it. Sure, it would take a lot of effort on her part, but she was perfectly capable of returning the same lovely tone of voice and comments towards her opposition. It didn’t make any difference to her. Besides, it had been too long since she’d had the opportunity to bitch about someone else. And because she was such a kind individual, she’d do the compassionate thing and say it to the girl directly. That way she couldn’t misinterpret anything. Mimicking the girl’s expression, she put on the sweetest voice that seemed to be possible, “Yes, bemused. But then, I suppose I should have remembered that you always walk around with that expression.” She smirked. “That must just be your face. Silly me.” Dropping the sweet sarcastic voice for a few moments, she said the thing that she would have originally uttered, if the girl hadn’t chosen to pick up on her ‘accident.’ Raising an eyebrow, she turned around, as though surveying the area, but merely occupying time and ignoring the other girl. “See, if you’d been a nice little Gryffindor like the rest of your house, I would told you the means of getting into the kitchens. But seeing as you chose the bitchy route, I’ll follow suite. I wouldn’t want to disappoint, after all. I know how important our weekly interactions are to you.” She wasn’t actually certain as to whether she would have willingly offered the secret as to how to gain entrance. But when the girl was evidently enjoying Jaslene’s slight pain, she wasn’t getting anything from her. Served her right as well.[/blockquote][/blockquote] WE'RE ALL HERE CAUSE WE LOST CONTROL WE'RE ALL HERE CAUSE WELOSTCONTROL WE'RE ALL HERE CAUSE WE LOST CONTROL WE'RE ALL HERE CAUSE •tags• annabelle jameson abercrombie •status• complete! •comments• none to speak of. •word count• five-nine-nine. •lyrics• DIE TONIGHT, LIVE FOREVER by InnerPartySystem •credit• AMANDA THE PIRATE * @ CAUTION !

I WANT TO HAVE THE SAME LAST DREAM AGAIN + + ++ + + THE ONE WHERE I WAKE UP AND I'M ALIVE So... the Slytherin was just going to flat-out deny her little incident happened? There wasn't really anything AJ could do if Jaslene wouldn't even acknowledge she had a problem. She clearly wasn't ready for rehab.
Her insults though, stung a little more than they should. AJ was usually pretty good at letting things roll off, and she wasn't sure why the older girl's words hurt. Maybe it was because Jaslene was the daughter of AJ's idol; Hermione Malfoy Granger was the most brilliant witch of the century, perhaps of all time, and AJ strived for the woman's approval. Maybe it was because Jaslene didn't have to work at all for her mother's attention because she earned it by default. Or maybe it was because the girl was more beautiful and lovely than AJ ever would be, and the words she spoke were actually easy to believe.
The Gryffindor shook herself. No! She was not going to let petty teenage disputes bring her down. Especially not with girly drama - AJ hated drama. So she took a moment to calm down, but it didn't seem like Jaslene was going to give her a moment. She began speaking again, and the sound grated AJ the wrong way.
"Look, Jassy," She snapped, not interested in playing the game this girl was clearly a professional at, "I don't know what your problem is. You have this incessant need to put everyone down, to make you feel better. You're the classic bully, you're nothing special, so why don't you go insult someone who won't think your words are a waste of breath and intellect?!"
AJ didn't care that Jaslene was wasting her talent on bullying everyone at the school. If the girl really applied herself to her education, she could be just as impressive as her mother. But she was a spoiled, rich little brat who had to lord that over everyone, and AJ refused to be another doormat for the girl to wipe her feet on. Hogwarts had taken enough of her horrid behaviour! It was time someone stood up to the gorgeous harpy.

YOU CAN FEEL THE POUNDING WRAPPED AROUND YOUR CHESTJASLENEMALFOY NOTHING'S TOO EXCESSIVE WHEN YOU'VE GOT NOTHING LEFT Someone should really do something about the state of some parts of the castle. Either she’d fallen in a particular way, which had resulted in her being covered in the most dust she’d ever seen, or some parts of the school weren’t cared for properly. As it happened, she wasn’t especially bothered about which of these two it was, the fact still remained that she deserved to fall onto a nicer surface, if she absolutely had to fall down. She’d have to mention that, the next time she saw a member of staff. It was bad enough having the accident in the first place, let alone still have her reasonably expensive clothing covered in dust. This reminded her, she should rid the rest of material from her clothing, otherwise the other girl would have a small amount of evidence if she chose to announce this incident. Since her hand was already relatively near her wand pocket, she retrieved it and siphoned the rest of dust from her outfit.
Rubbing her shoulder, the one place on her body that was already swelling slightly, due to the angle in which she fell, she rolled her eyes towards the ceiling. She could tell this Gryffindor was stubborn. A characteristic that they shared, apparently. Although she rarely agreed about just how stubborn she was. Moving her left hand from her shoulder to her long hair, she tossed the majority of her blonde curls behind her ears, as she addressed her company once more. “Look, Abercrombie,” she copied the girl’s words almost exactly, knowing from previous experience that this generally irritated her. “Let’s address those allegations, shall we?”
A small sign of disdain crossed her pale features, “But first, let’s get another thing straight. You have no right to call me Jassy. It’s not even a real name!” She hated people making up stupid nicknames for her. “My name,” she breathed slowly, “is Jaslene. It’s a very nice name and is supposed to be said in its entirety. Unless you disapprove of the name my mother, and your Headmistress gave me, and by all means relate all said problems you have, I’ll be sure to pass them on, I’d stick to the correct format.” “Besides,” she suddenly spoke up again, after a few minutes of stony silence passed between them, “I’m not a bully. Of all the names I’ve heard attributed to myself, yours is one of the only ones which has no basis in truth.” Turning her head to the right slightly, she walked around the girl, as though in the stages of deep thought, or mimicking the behaviour of a predator stalking its prey. “If we take into account the full dictionary definition of a bully, I don’t fit it. Let’s see – a bully is someone who uses their power to influence people weaker than themselves, right?” She doubted that the Gryffindor would disagree with this, wasn’t she supposed or perceived to hold some reasonable amount of intelligence. “So, unless you’re claiming to be significantly weaker than me, I think that pretty much disapproves your point. In terms of other people, I don’t seek to scare/frighten/hurt them either. Do I look like I have power above the likes of the majority of other students?” It was a valid point, even if it wasn’t seen to be truth by the likes of this girl, she wasn’t exactly carrying the noticeable athletic appearance of the sporty student population. Resting her back against the nearest wall, she let a small yawn escape her mouth, as though demonstrating her boredom. “I might be a bitch, whatever else the rumours say, but I’m happy. I don’t have the time or the desire to go around ruining other peoples’ lives and say that I do would not only seem incredibly prejudiced towards myself but also exaggerated. Why would I waste my effort on people that mean nothing to me?” Placing her wand back in her pocket, she gave the girl another small expression of disapproval, as though the girl had been deliberately trying to place all of the blame onto her. It might have worked on other people, but despite all the years of practicing and perfecting this innocent ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ look, something told her that Annabelle Abercrombie wouldn’t be as easily fooled. Or maybe she was just determined to see the worst in everyone, Jaslene, herself, included. Honestly, the girl seemed to have a few issues of her own. As it was, Jas couldn’t even see what her problem was. Sure, a few insults over the years, but nothing incredibly bad. From the looks she was getting from the Gryffindor, one would think the blonde girl had killed one of her close family or something.
