i'm dreaming of a white christmasjust like the ones i used to know Though Hogwarts had officially closed for the Christmas holidays a few hours ago, the students had been invited to stay for the ball and then go home, or to attend and stay at Hogwarts for the holidays. Even if only one student decided not to return to their family and stay at the castle, Hermione would be required to stay as well. Of course, she'd be going home for Christmas Day, or else persuading Draco to come to the castle for the day. She still hadn't gotten around to asking her daughters what they had planned to do.
As she had done for the Halloween Ball, the Great Hall had been locked up with the Headmistress inside to prepare it for the evening. This time however, she would not be put in the position of having to remove a Dark Mark from the ceiling, and so had placed every protective charm that she knew of over the room. She'd have asked a few aurors to come as well, but she had a point to prove to Kingsley Shacklebolt; Hogwarts doesn't need the Ministry. Dolores Umbridge had given enough evidence, and she had been lucky enough to witness the whole disaster concerning the toad.
Snow was falling gently from the ceiling, fading into nothingness moments before it would have settled on the floor. As much fun as she wanted the students to have, the last thing she wanted was snowballs flying around everywhere. Two small Christmas trees were decorating themselves just outside of the hall, and a much larger one in the centre of the Entrance Hall. There were also several three slash four foot trees dotted about the edge of the hall, which had already finished decorating themselves. Two long tables, about half the width of the house tables, were along the longest sides of the room, serving a wide variety of snacks and drinks.
When she was happy with the room, she waved a final wave of her wand, glittering purple dust blew around her, before forming the outfit she had planned for the evening. The doors of the hall unlocked themselves and opened up, revealing the room to everyone else in the castle, and starting the ball.

Edward stood outside the Great hall admiring the Trees which he himself had cut down and brought into hogwarts. Well thats my exercise for the year he thought to himself holding back a laugh, he had Christmas planned in his hut, he had invited his parents to come around as it had been ages scince they had seen him and he figured he could show them around the castle as they were muggles and had never actually seen Hogwarts.
He turned around as he heard the door unlock Lets see what shes done this time he thought to himself strolling inside knowing Hermione always loved to decorate the hall amazingly, and she had not let herself down, it was snowing and everything.. he couldnt tell if it s cold or not as he had his big fur jacket on. He strolled in and over to the Headmistress "Marvelous, you've done it again" he said looking around the room, his eyes fell on the two tables on either side of the room and he figured he would be eating his guts out sooner or later, but for now he was just going to relax and enjoy the ball. I'll just be hanging round the mistletoe, hoping to be kissed.” "I will be waiting to comfert you." Shia was actually singing a Christmas song as he made his way to the ball. He felt pretty good in his clothes, he had bought some new bracelets though, he had to get rid of his other one, slowly forgetting his past mistakes. He found that it was nice, he entered being rather early. He had to admit Headmistress looked very nice.
He stood there not sure what to do, he wasn't use to being on the more 'merrier' side. The fact he didn't feel like burning someone helped him alot too, ever sense Daniel came to him. He had been alot more happy, more peaceful maybe.
He knew everyone would be worried with him around, he was trying to gain a new rp instead of the one he had now. Perhaps something less scary if he could. Though he knew his temper would get the best of him at some point. His bracelets were ironic to that very thing, for his karma noramlly came and bit him in the end. He smirked at his own humor ambling up to Hermione."Merry Christmas Mrs. Malfoy." He said softly bowing with a uncanny grace. [/blockquote] Clothes;outfit Thread; Everyone! Lorenzo wasn't sure if he should of went to the Christmas ball. The last time had tried to have a ball it went horribly wrong with the dark mark being placed on the ceiling. He took his chances and made his way to the ball doing up the last cuff lings on his arm as he fixed his tie on his suit[/link] before stopping front of the golden arched gates. Hopefully nothing will happen this time. He said to himself as he closed his eyes and slowly pushed the golden doors open which was lighter than he had expected. He walked in and the first thing he noticed was the marvelous work that had been done. Music filled his ears with the aroma of food and the atmosphere being in a cheerful matter. " This is amazing! Lorenzo said as he watched the small flakes of snow fall from the ceiling and fade into nothingness with no water or anything involved. " Head mistress!" Lorenzo said walking over smiling. He had never really had a chat with her and took this advantage to do so. " Great work here again!" Lorenzo said as he has his hand ready for a hand shake.

So for the second time in about two months, the school was hosting a seasonal ball. Originally, she hadn't wanted to attend. Especially if it was going to turn out the way the last one did - she'd barely had time to do anything, let alone get a sufficient wearing time of her planned outfit. This time, she figured, if anything was to happen, she was walking back through those doors and never looking back. She hated formal social occasions anyway. All this fuss about what or what not to wear. Being the lovely girl that she was, she would never go as bluntly as to wear something that would be completely inappropriate. Yet, if this ball was to backfire as badly as the last one, which she was beginning to doubt, she didn't want to waste one of her better dresses on a few minutes of dancing. Instead she opted for something that would demand a certain amount of attention, but wasn't entirely weird.
Even as she dressed herself, a few hours earlier, she was beginning to regret saying that she'd attend. There wasn't going to be many other people that she actually enjoyed the company of also attending. Those that she actually would seek the companionship of had taken the wiser decision of missing it altogether. Had she been anyone but the daughter of the woman organising it, she probably would have done the same, without a moment's hesitation. She felt slightly guilty about refusing to attend something that her mother had clearly taken a decent amount of time organizing and planning. So, she'd make an appearance. That wasn't to mean that she planned to stay there, it depended almost entirely on the quality of the company available. She'd make a judgement on whether it was good enough, once having made her entrance, as to how long she planned to stay in the room.
As her eyes reached the great hall itself, she was quite impressed. Her mother had a talent for decoration, as shown by two school balls. Still not regretting her dress decision, she made her way into the hall, glancing around to note the people who were already there. Exciting times. Walking into the middle of the room, she was slightly disappointed to see that she was one of the only students that were already in the room. Not instantly wanting to talk to anyone, she remained in her convenient position, able to easily recognise anyone else who might walk in. Even as she looked around, she knew her dress would rather contrast the majority of girls' dresses. In the winter season, most would opt for longer dress, in colours of red, green, purple, blues etc. There was nothing like making a difference, she smiled to herself.

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) Daniel had planned on not attending the ball that day, just leaving and not returning, but when he left what would he do then? Mope in his own misery? He didn't want to spend the day like that, so coming to the ball would hopefully take his mind off of things. He hated feeling so helpless, and un knowing, but he won't let William's memory ruin his evening. True, Daniel will probably end up just sitting alone in a corner, wallowing in his own misery, but at least it won't be as pathetic as going home. He thought about if his parents' knew what he'd done, what they would say. Theodore and Pansy Nott probably wouldn't give a damn, being some of the most faithful followers of Voldemort in their years, but Dan was different, and William was different.
Dan stood infront of the mirror, putting on his tie, his waistcoat and the blazer. He buttoned everything up, and looked at his face. The scar that was there, and his hair. It was messy as always, but he just ran his fingers through it, it wouldn't get any better, even though it wasn't good. With one lat glance in the mirror, Daniel blew out a breath. He kept telling himself that this was better than going home, but he was having doubts. With a shake of his head, he turned away and walked out of the room before he could change his mind. His footsteps echoed as he moved towards the entrance to the great hall. He had no date, male or female, though he would have obviously preferred male. Well, he's have to wait and see how all this went.
As he entered the hall, even in this mood, he had to admit that it all looked pretty impressive. He let a soft smile rest on his lips. He slipped in, hopefully unnoticed by the few people in there. Daniel walked by the wall, and took a seat on one of the couches, not bothering to congratulate the Headmisstress on her great work, there were enough people that are already doing that, and he seriously was not in the mood. Running his fingers through his hair, Daniel sighed. He couldn't wait for the night to end, and it hasn't even started.

He looked at the crowd seeing people he knew and some he really didn't . He stuffed his hands in his pockets sighing lighty. His wand was in his back pocket, jst incase he needed it. He found himself being pushed to the back of the ball, when he stumbled upon Daniel. He stood htere watching him from afar then slowly walked up.
He went over and sat down next to him, "I am glad you came."Shia commented softly, it was a light whisper. He looked at Daniel with a slight shift of his eyes, trying to see if he was okay at all.
"However if you hadn't come i would have jsut come and foudn you." Shia continued rolling up his sleeves and cracking his knuckles. He sighed softly."I have something for you then, sense it is Christmas." His eyes glinted with mischief. Then he turned looking at everyone else. [/blockquote] Clothes;outfit Thread; Everyone! It was Christmas time once again. Snow fell and trees were covered in a white varnish that made the horizon vanish with the white sky that lit up the world like a light bulb penetrating every corner of darkness leaving nothing but only a shade of white that was clear in all directions of sight. The magic of the sky continued to fall even inside the walls of magic itself.
Hogwarts had been home to the Christmas ball and this year Kingsley had to take place over one of the Aurors that was not able to attend who the headmistress has asked to attend as under cover friends of the staff. His presence there had doubled in reason. With Kingsly's history of service toward the Ministry and Hogwarts and due to the recent events, Kingsley was not only there to make a speech and have a feast as well as celebrating the end of a year with Hogwarts staff and students but to act as extra security for Hogwarts in case anything had happened once again.
Kingsley had matched the night well as he sang white Christmas in his head to match his clothing for the evening. He walked one step at a time through the back entrance of the Great Hall to check for anything as well this being the only place where children were not. I wonder what magic the Headmistress has worked this year as well as the help of Mr Farrell with the trees if any. Of course there should be. For some reason, Kingsley had doubted the headmistress at that moment in terms of decoration, then again decoration was not his field nor was it ever. He thought back with a smile as he made his way up the stairs to the door which led into the great hall. The sounds of Christmas carols and his favorite out of all of them, white Christmas had just started to play. Listen to that cheer in there. Kingsley said as he opened the door slightly noticing a tattered black robe stuck in one of the corners of the door. What on earth is this doing here? He asked himself before feeling the warmth of the Great Hall. The echoing laughter and sounds of children and staff alike echoed in the great hall as well as the songs playing in the background. " What a beautiful sight! Kingsley said softly as he watched the ceiling turn into a living piece of artwork. Indeed the headmistress has done more than ever to make this moment spectacular in every way. Kingsley has known that it was highly abnormal for him to be here as he was only here to replace one of his own staff members. He had not doubted the headmistress and her skills at any point but was there only if needed be. He was quite sure nothing would of happened and that his service would not be needed. Nothing to be suspicious about excluding this tattered robe which i should take a closer look at soon. He said to himself as he placed the old, black, tattered robe into his pocket. His attention drew back to the room in which his face had started to glow with a bright smile. " Edward!" Kingsley said as he made his way to Edward when he should of made his way to the Headmistress to discuss formal and security issues about this event yet today he felt that Hogwarts should have enough security there to block a family of giant trolls. Hence why he had made his first contact to Edward rather than the Headmistress who he was going to see later on in the night. For now, he just wanted everyone to enjoy as well as himself and at the same time, keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Kingsley was only allowed to take out his wand if there was any sign of danger in the hall in which he saw nothing so far.

Millie rushed out of the common room, trying to put on her flats while fixing her dress . Finally, she stopped and calmed herself down. You've got time. Just fix your dress first. Taking out her wand, she muttered a small incantation to fix the rip in her dress. Alright, cool. Now put your shoes on. Putting the shoes on her feet, she walked down to the Great Hall and pushed open the doors. Her jaw dropped when she saw how the Hall had been decorated. Walking around cooly, she finally saw the Headmistress and to be kind she walked toward her and curtsied. "Merry Christmas, Headmistress." She said with a smile, before noticing that some of her friends had showed up. Carefully she walked toward them, looking up and watching the snow fade away to nothing before it could even hit the ground. Millie looked at the trees and noticed the Gamekeeper was there, and was talking to someone who looked like the Minister of Magic. Slowly making her way towards the only two people she knew well, Millie noticed they were talking to each other. "Do you guys know each other?" She asked when reaching Dan and Shia, smiling widely. Millie looked to Shia and gave a smile and asked how he was doing. She then turned to Dan. "Dan has blessed us with his presence," Millie commented with a soft trace of sarcasm. "Seriously, man. I thought you weren't going to show!" She added with a light laugh. [/blockquote]

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) Daniel sat there for a minute or two, just staring off into a space and already regretting coming. He let out a soft sigh, and looked at the snow that faded before it hit the ground. It was truly all a beautiful sight, and Daniel was sad that he couldn't appreciate it as much as he could. Dan was startled to feel someone sit beside him, and he couldn't say that he wasn't glad to see Shia, or Vincent, or wheoever he was sitting just there. Dan chuckled humourlessly, 'Well, this is definitely better than going home.' He said, and that was true. He looked down Vincent, 'You look pretty good tonight, if I do say so my self.' He said, with a weak smile upon his lips, however the imprefection on his face was evident none the less, but Daniel has learnt to ignore it.
His dark browraised on it's own accord when he said that he had a surprise for him. 'What is it?' Dan asked, with genuine curiousity. He never expected anything from this guy, but there he was, being nice and all. It was more than Dan actually deserved at this time. The question that came was definitely not Veincent's voice, so Daniel looked towards the source of it instincitvely. 'Yeah, we've.. urm.. met before.' Dan said, smiling at Millie. 'You're looking really nice Millie.' He said, and it was the truth. Sure he didn't fancy her, but Millie really looked quite pretty that evening.
Daniel looked with a sort of shocked expression at Millie. 'What gave you that idea?' He asked, with mock shock. However, since he was nothing but miserable the last couple of days, no weonder Millie was going to assume so. He sighed. He needed to get his act together, even if it was pretend.

i'm dreaming of a white christmasjust like the ones i used to know Hermione heard Edward's comment about the hall as he approached her, a smile crossing her lips. The groundskeeper was always cheerful, and he was just the kind of guy that you couldn't dislike. Of course, he was no Hagrid, but there were parts to his personality that reminded Hermione of him. "Thanks Edward, though I do wonder whether last year's ball was better... the snow's not quite the same this year." Another voice caught her ear, an icy shiver crawling down her spine. Despite this, she couldn't help but return the greeting to Vincent, before turning back to Edward.
She'd definitely have to stop decorating the hall so grandly at these events, as much as she liked compliments, she didn't want to spend the whole ball listening to people telling her about how beautiful it looked, instead of making the ball a ball. Hermione was pleased to see here daughter arrive, as there had been quite some doubt as to whether or not she intended to turn up. The bubble was burst however when Kingsley Shacklebolt turned up. He was very different to the man she had known as a teenager, and it seemed that the power had gone to his head a little.
"May I remind you Minister that you are trespassing on Hogwarts' grounds, since you didn't recieve an invitation." She said to him, holding back the bitter tone that was trying to force it's way through into her voice. Hermione wanted to keep Hogwarts as far away from the Ministry of Magic as she possibly could. "And to you Millie." Smiles seemed to be across most, if not all, of the students' faces, and that wasn't about to change any time soon, not if she could do anything about it.

Eddy shook his head at what the headmistress said "Personally i think its better, its just you want to nit pick so you can improve something, just relax and enjoy the ball" he said with a smile trying to just calm Hermione down as she seemed all tense like she usualy as when a ball had started, she allways seemed to nit pick and want to make it bigger and better then the last one, one day she would run out of improvements and people will be let down though.
Eddy watched students arrived then when he saw the minister his reaction was nearly the opposite then Hermione's. "Kingey!" he said with a smile then the Headmistress began to speak so he went quiet. She best not kick him out.. hes the only decent person to talk to thats here so far he thought to himself as he looked from The headmistress to The minister. "You know, im sure you two would get along if you lighten up and got to the partying already" he said then decided to keep his nose out even if it was a bit too late.

* ** Camilla was always late. She hated it, in fact, so she always tried to be early to things. But somehow she got caught up in her newest book, and then it was already time for the ball to start. Camilla had had her hair half-way done when she began to read, so when she realized the time, she quickly pinned up the other half with her pearl pins and stepped into her high stilettos. The gown she was wearing was delicate and expensive, but she’d begged and begged so she could have it. It was gorgeous—the top was intricately woven and infused with gems, and the bottom flowed like water. It was beautiful, and Camilla couldn’t help but want to hug it to herself. But now she had to get to the ball.
Running down the hall, Camilla hoped she didn’t trip on her dress. She would do something like that. She slowed down suddenly, realizing that if she kept running like that, her nicely pinned hair would quickly fall out. And her messy curls so readily did what they weren’t supposed to, so she new they were soon going to rebel against their captors. And anyway, running wasn’t going to get her anywhere faster. She was in heels, so she was running about as fast as a normal person would walk. Or crawl. Maybe the heels were a bad idea. Well, they would come off quickly away.
Finally, Camilla reached the great wooden doors that signaled she had arrived at the Great Hall. Camilla stepped in, while simultaneously admiring the gorgeous decorations. Camilla’s light green eyes scanned the wonderful decorations, hoping one day to be as good at decorating. Milla’s decoration spells never really turned out right. She could never get the hang of it. Camilla touched her hair to make sure it was still in tact—it was still tame—and then walked over to Millie. She was chatting with some people she vaguely knew. ”Oh Millie!” Camilla embraced her in a hug. ”You look so great. I’m so late, I know, but I got caught up again…” She trailed off, realizing she might have interrupted a conversation. She smiled bright at the boys. ”Oh sorry, hi. That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
Nina stood wondering how she had come from being so bored, to dressing up like a princess almost and gliding down the halls, pausing at the door. She breathed in wondering if she'd see Trevor, she didn't know his name still, but she knew she could see him and know who he was. She just had to see him one more time, say hi perhaps dance. the place was such a dream, she felt like she had fallen into her book of Romeo and Juliet when everything had gone right and it was just them, but then it wasn't a fairy tale.
She stood to the side watching everyone, her blue dress shimmering like a snowflake. Sure she hated being alone and not walking in on someones arm like she wanted to, but she found that watching others was enjoyable, she spotted Shia amongst the others, and warily stepped up and smiled a nervous grin."Hello, how are you enjoying yourselves?"
Hours before Nina had told her self she wasn't going to go, she had just laid on her bed crying because she knew it wouldn't be how she had hoped, though thats how things always are, she couldn't expect Simone to come in and sweep her off her feet, that was uncalled for. Though she wouldn't mind a dance, or just talking to the one guy she knew she loved to death, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Kingsley continued to walk toward Edward when the barrier of the headmistress voice came into play. What, I tried to hide and she still find me. His thoughts were as close as he could get when it came to expressing his anger toward the headmistress at this time. Kingsley chose to live life hence why he did keep his thoughts to himself. " Good evening..." He had started to speak when the headmistress decided to take over.
Instantly, he looked down feeling rather intimidated by her words. He had wanted to speak but new from experience it was best to not to talk back to any lady or woman of any any. " Please headmistress, I offer no harm, disruption or business. I am here for the festivities. Indeed I am here with no invitation and if you wish for me to leave, I shall." Said Kingsley in a voice that sounded rather calm as always.
" Besides it's Christmas. It's the season to be jolly. Kingsley said hoping things weren't going to go bad. Although he was slightly smiling inside he felt rather nervous of what the headmistress would say if indeed she had not found it funny.
